So last night I go out with a few friends and have way too much fun. I think I got home at around 1 or 2 and decide to play a little poker. Well, the 10 or so yeagerbombs tell me too play some 10-20 (way outside my bankroll). Now what I do remember involves me calling 3 bets cold with hands like 84, K8, 23, and raising utg with similar trash. When I wake up this morning I log onto my account to check the damage and find I pissed away over 1000 bucks. I'm now back at the microlimits trying desperately to rebuild but wow I feel like an idiot. But on the brighter side, I'm gonna start playing at night so I can catch idiots like me at the table. Has anyone else had this kind of momentary state of complete stupidity. By the way, your welcome if you were at the table with me last night. :? Happy Hunting

Ouch. :(That was an expensive lesson, but if you learn from it, you may just have saved yourself some money in the long run.
When you tell me a bad beat story, I don't really listen. I nod sadly and pretend to care, but actually I'm using the time to think about more important things. That way, you feel the sympathy you're seeking, and I put my time to good use. It works for both of us. -- Mike Caro, Super System 2

Chalk it up as a learning experience, uh, a rather costly one. Yes, I too have had the drunken poker courage. Completely loaded and in front of friends, I burned through $500 one night, about 25% of my BR.Mind you, I've also come out ahead a few times, but I know it's never worth it. Playing with a few beers in you can be OK, but when you come home loaded, stick to the porn sites.

The sad thing is, I get the drunk poker courage when I'm sober. I won a 6 handed $35 SNG on pokerstars which paid $136....so I promptly played 2 $50 heads up SNGs and lost....now I'm trying to win a $5 9 handed SNG so I can go do it all again....I suck.

What? A girl advocating a really drunk guy try to drag girls back to his place?Thankfully I have somehow realized NOT to play poker while drunk -- well, at least not online. I play it live drunk pretty often. I don't think my friends like getting beat when I'm wasted though. Except for the guy who knows if he just waits for the few times I'm not in a pot, he can pick up the rest of the chips I don't have an beat me heads-up. Damn vodka.

A few months ago I cleaned up in a home game while drunk. A good experience was when I thought I had the nu fullhouse and bet into the pot, when my stepdad had a lower fullhouse. He laid the hand down because he was certain I had him beat. Best bluff. EVER.

Been there, done that - but never to that extent fortunately. One thing I'm thinking of doing is picking one site for my "party" (but probably not Party) site, and putting in a very small bankroll, and that way I can satisfy my poker urge, but not put my bankroll in jeopardy.

Yes, I did the same thing saturday night... except i lost over $2500.... I was just drunk enough to let a terrible beat get to me, and I went on drunk tilt... which is much worse than regular tilt if you have ever been there... I was still playin rather solid, but I had it out for a guy (biggest mistake in poker) and I was calling his pot bets constantly.. So later I decided it would be a good idea to jump up in limits, and I played a little $1000 PL... my normal game is 400. Needless to say, I lost around 2500, but the bright side is that im only 300 from getting it all back. Sigh... don't go on drunk tilt.. let this be a lesson.
