Hi im new to the boards here and to online poker.- Hey everyone im in Australia and i've played in a few home games and local competitions but i've never really played online. i do have a decent understanding of poker although i dont know how well it will translate online. getting a few $"s and furthering my game is what i'm looking for.i work in a job where i could literally spend an couple hours every night playing whilst getting paid although it would be too difficult i think to play in online tourneys. so i'm looking for a site that i can play a few s'n'g hands.what site do you guys reccomend ? i've also heard a bit about cash in bonuses and rakeback .. though im hardly aware of what those terms even mean any advice would be much appreciated.

There is a thread "Online Poker Startup list" in this section, a couple of threads down from your post. That'll get you started. If you have more questions after reading it ask them here and I'll answer them. I have a couple questions of my own:How much do you plan to deposit?Are you interested in cash games or just SnG tournies (or both)?I'm not sure what you meant when you said you don't have time for online tournies, but maybe a few SnG hands. I'm assuming you mean you don't have time to play 1000 person tourney, but would like to play a 10 man tourney(SnG )or cashgames, where you can come and go as you please.And don't download and deposit money on your own on any sites if you wan't to recieve rakeback, because you have to sign up through a rakeback affiliate.Hope this helps.Oh yeah, welcome to the forum!!!
