At my B&M, all the retirees that play on Saturday (which is the only day I can really play due to my schedule.) they love to limp in any posistion with AA, KK, AK etc. Then you play the hand the way it shoud be played according to SSHE, ABC poker, yada yada, and then they beat your two pair AQ with a set of aces or whatever, when they showed absolutely no aggression during the hand, untill maybe the river, when they finally raise. It's so sick when you think you got the winner only to have them flip up a huge pocket pair. If theyd've raised preflop, I wouldn't have been in the hand in the first place, or I would've folded alot earlier. So, I guess my question is: How the hell do you beat these guys?!?
They tell me I have ADD....
They just don't underst-oooh look! A bunny!

But you save money, usually.Unless you bet marginal hands all the way and never learn that they keep slowplaying.

Um... easiest players to beat, ever.I'm assuming they also limp trash like K5o and J6o, etc, or are they so weak tight that they only play AA, AK, KK?Seriously. If they play other trash, then value bet the **** out of them. If they only play premiums, but play them passively, be careful when they enter the pot.If they are passive, be weary of raises from them, and increase your calling standards when you are raised by them. They are free money, btw, and the reason that live poker is sooooooooo easy.

The characteristic that you described in the playing style of these old timers is a weakness- not a strength. They lose value from their monsters that they could have made by playing standard poker. They certainly should not be feared. As long as you recognize that you are playing against a slowplayer, you should be able to save bets often. And this should be enough to make you happy to be playing against such an opponent. Now, in regards to how to take advantage of these Villains, you will need to know other characteristics of their playing style.Do they raise preflop with their more marginal hands? Are they playing too many hands? Are they only playing the monsters?Once you factor in these considerations, it will be easier to create a game-plan to tear these oppoenents apart.
