Well my wife and I are trying to sell our house (fsbo) of course. We just built this house and now we must ubild another. We already have 3 kids and having a heck of a time trying to keep the house clean. So my wife decides to do what evry couple trying to sell their house does.....she buys a puppy!Let me back up just a tad. Before X-mas my wife talked about getting a dog. I told her that was fine but if we got one it would be HER job to potty train the dog.2 out of the 3 kids decide to name him Rascal. He's a very cute dog that I like. We tried to get him to pee on paper, the pee pads etc. So you see the pee I mean writing on the wall right? We CAN'T seem to get this dog to go outside. Well we're like most couples (BROKE) ... I know what you're thinking...Why build a new house? Well her dad builds em and we can't get a new house cheaper than used. So a few Sunday mornings ago the dog starts puking and won't eat. We take to the Vet emergency room. He has to spend the night there and get IV's etc. The next morning (after paying the 600 bucks for the bill) the emergency vet tells us we should take him to our regular vet. The regular vet gives the dog antibiotics and charges another 200 dollars.That day I got to take the dog home and he was VERY skiddish and just looked plain scared. I hadn't seen him go to the bathroom since we got home.So I go sit on the couch hit the Tivo button to watch some poker.....The dog crawls up my chest and sits there, like he always does.....and pees like 4 gallons of urine on me. I just let him go because I was scared if I reacted real fast and moved him that he would vomit ot something. This whole time my wife is laughing her arse off. I promise the dog covered my entire shirt with his urine. I don't understand it ....the dog only weighs 2.5 lbs!BOTTOM LINE:Rascal spending the night in the emergency room : 600.00the bill at the vet the next day : 200.00peeing all over the man that paid for it : PRICELESS

That story rules. It also reinforces my distaste for small dogs, namely those dogs without the common name "Labrador Retriever". Not that they pee had anything to do with its breed, but I can draw that conclusion to serve my own purposes. Good luck man. Good luck.

you know, just like you said he's priceless.yes it's a funny story (which i loved your story! )and cost some dollars, but in the long run, your little rascal is totally worth it. dogs become your best friend. down the road you will remember that story and say "that little shit" but when it all comes down, you realize you would never trade him for anything in the world-no matter what the expense is. i have 4 dogs, my babies and the best best bestest friends in the world...i love them so much and vet expenses now mean nothing. i'm sure you can understand that kind of love. :)nothing can replace your dog, they create their own personalities and become one of your children. i will say boldly, that dogs are better than people, in that they don't let you down, are always happy to see you, low maintenance, don't talk back, unconditional love, never mean, always loyal, the best company you could ever have and most important, they will always be there for you when you really need it.when i got my 4th puppy (chiuaua/jack russel mix), the animal rescue asked me "how are you going to manage a boyfriend with 4 dogs?"my respsonse "4 dogs is better than any boyfriend!!"and that's just the plan and simple truth.PS. if you realize that you don't want your puppy anymore, please let me know. i work with a no kill animal shelter and if it comes down to it where you don't want rascal, we will find him a forever home. in fact, if any one has an animal they don't want, please PM me.

I have a dog issue of my own. I have an 8 month old husky cross. She's one of the most beautiful dogs that i've ever seen and I'm not just saying that b/c she's mine. Anyways, like all huskies, this one loves to escape. Our backyard looks like Fort Knox right now. Anyways, my issue is that I don't think it's fair to my puppy that she has to get chained up while my boyfriend and I are away at work, but this is the only way that we can keep her in the backyard.I guess what I'm trying to say is that if anyone in the Toronto area is interested in and 8 month old Husky pup, I've got a great natured female. She's fantastic with kids, and loves cats. I'll also include her cage that she sleeps in at night.IM me for more information.thanks

That is one funny story. I have a Siberian Husky that lives outside. She's great. She keeps critters out of my garden. Your story gave me a laugh while I'm fighting with my laptop. (I'm using my regular pc for this post).Dogs, computers, kids... They're always doing something unexpected.Nikki
