Full Tilt $24+2
Very early in tournament. This was the first time the sb had reached me. No reads on any villians. I was thinking about check raising the turn after the bb bet and mp called. On the river I was hoping that someone had a Jack and that I could check raise and get their entire stack.
Three questions:
1)I assume that this early in the tournament the smooth call pre-flop is ok. Does anyone raise here?
2)Should I check raise on the turn? If so, how much.
3)How much do I bet on the river to get a call out of one of the villains?Full Tilt Poker

Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.

Ouch, badly played.
Flop is fine, assuming we are planning to make some kind of check raise.
On the turn bet at least 200. If you get called bet the pot on river. They will call often enough to make this the most profitable option.

If you're not going to raise the turn when you get bet into, then for the love of god PLEASE at least lead out on the river. ESPECIALLY after seeing that you have MP trapped by his call.
One of these guys has a bit of a hand here. Get some chips in the middle SOMEWHERE here would ya???
You certainly found a way to win the LEAST amount possible out of this.
Terrible hand.

Lead the flop. You got an EP raise of decent size and a call behind, so there are solid values out there, but what hands are going to bet into that flop?
With 2 opponents the raiser isnt likely to CB, he probably needs TT+ to bet the hand at all with the blinds calling. (88- is too vulnerable even to Js and 9s that are in the blinds). A check raise is rarely going to be available. You want to try and check raise when an A or K flops, not middle cards.
You want to size the bet to encourage callers which most likely means offering a little less than 3:1 odds to a potential 6 outer (in his view) villain, so a half pot bet or a little more should get some action, and begin the important process of building the pot for more calls later. What extra action are you going to get on the turn or river to make up for the lost action on the flop? Somebody HAS to hit the turn to get any decent play after checking the flop or there wont be enough in the middle to justify any calls.
