I'm in a 5 man SnG on pacific poker. Everyone starts with 1000. I'm down to about 700 with blinds @ 25/50. With blinds that high I was getting cloers to short stacked and seeing KK UTG was a pleasant surprise.I don't like to be cute with KK especially with a short stack so I bet out 150. A pretty standard raise but I did want some action. The player on my left is the only one who calls. He was the kind to play everyhand so I didn't really read him as too strong when he just called my raise.Flop comes 8 6 2 rainbow. I'm first to act and at this point I'm pretty sure my KK's are good. This guy seems to be pretty loose and I bet my remaining 550 into a 375 pot. A little big but my read was good enough to think I wanted to get my money in right @ that point. He calls of course and shows A 8 spades. So all I gotta do it sweat out the turn and the river. Turn was a blank and of course his 3rd 8 comes on the river. I'm sent to the rail.I guess all I wanna know is how anyone would play this hand differently. Keep in mind my stack was getting semi-short and had to make a stand before the blinds got any higher.

Agreed, you're going broke on this hand regardless of how you bet it.

Immediately pushing all-in with an overpair post-flop tends to get me into a lot of trouble when some jackass who called my raise with 9-3 suited (Or similar) has miraculously hit two-pair and thus immediately calls me.One of the few times I've come close to losing it after making a ridiculous exit. But anyway, I think you played it fine, though like I said, I'm not sure I would've necessarily pushed in immediately post-flop. I do agree with you that you were probably getting your money in at some point anyway, though. Some might say "raise more or push preflop", but you're not quite into all-in-or-fold territory yet, and I like raising for a standard amount with every hand I play.

I know I made the correct play...I was trying to find out how others would have played this pot in my position.

I'm betting more Preflop with KK more like 5 or 6 BB, even UTGAlways better to pick up the blinds then go broke :D
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.
