Hi, I was just wondering if there are many Canadians on here who play tournaments that are on the Canadian Poker Tour (CPT) or any americans that ever come to Canada and play in these events. There is one that I will be playing in very soon and am looking forward to it as I was disappointment in my finish in the Harvest Poker Classic in November.
Awwwww, I almost have a straight!

Well, I can tell you this much, the events that were held in Casino Regina drew record crowds and sold out the NL hold'em event with 352 people. First prize was just under $50,000. I noticed someone posted the Canadian poker player link. I think it's the one that is correct but if it is not I will post it again. www.canadianpokerplayer.comThey have both local and major events. Major events are ones that have a buy-in of $300 or more. I live in Saskatoon and a radio personality named Dave Scharf is the editor of Canadian poker player magazine and is trying to get the CPT out there and running. He is even trying to get events televised and has had negotiations with CBC for a series. He has been trying to get the tour going for a while now. Because he is from Saskatchewan most events tend to be from casinos that know him and have decided to support the tour. However, there are events in Ontario. There was a big one at rama this fall. Also, Alberta has a lot of casinos. I think that more than anything is the reason for the amount of tournaments. Also they are big casinos. Next week there is an event in Saskatoon on the 29th that I'm playing in. $110 registration, $25 rebuys and addon and players start with 500 chips. The casino only has 8 sometimes 9 tables so they play 11 handed and limit it to 88 or 99 players.

yeah i know there was a big one at rama earlier in the year. but i wasn't really into poker at that time. I saw the promotion when i went to rama before the tournament started and there were promotions at their poker room. :D little did i know that i would enjoy poker so much now and want to try to play in a tournament. and i don't want to go to another alberta to play in a tournament. I want to start off in ontario first. I know there is one tournament in march i think, that's in port perry. I'm gonna try to go to that one .
