Go Mustangs ! No offense Gothic, but you've got Arnason...
Go T-Birds ! Take a win out of the East division. Those Rats have got to hit a roadbump sometime.
- I will donate $200 to the Daniel Alfredsson clown academy
- I will not watch hockey for a a period of 12 months
- I will wear a Senators jersey and say I am a Senators fan while walking up and down Yonge Street
- I will praise the city of Ottawa and their fine hockey team for a period of 1 year
- I will acknowledge that hell has finally frozen over
- I will cancel LeafsTV and NHL Centre Ice Package
- I will also give my fantasy team for a total of one year to an associate

My game is going to come down to the wire for sure. A lot of my key players are in the late games.

The Mustangs more closely resemble a festering boil.
I've had almost no production from guys like Kyle Calder, Anson Carter, Janne Niinimaa, Steve Eminger, etc... Luckily Darcy Tucker (thanks Serge) picked up a lot of that slack. I'm expecting Tucker's production to decrease, but as my other guys start producing I should be okay. The Mustangs have no depth whatsoever (and no future).
I'd propose a wager against my finishing last, but I don't want to influence my judgement.
Zbynek Michalek ($0.25) is gonna be a 60 point D-man in 2 or 3 years. Book it!

All I'm saying is that when it comes to production your team isn't faring nearly as well as the other teams in the division yet you are at about .500. That's pretty lucky.

My point totals in my losses is usually a zero or a negative. I don't lose games 5-3 or 6-4. I'll lose 6-0, 2-0 or 9-2. My team is made up of 60-65 point guys at best. I don't have that 90 point guy so I don't win the high-scoring games. Fortunately for me, there just aren't that many high-scoring games in this league. I built this team just to have a chance at winning on any given night.
A team like Serge's does lose those 6-4, 7-5 games. And the games that I might win 1-0 or 2-1 The Mustangs might win 4-0. The win-loss results are the same, but the goals for are lower in my case.

That's a cute little justification but it really doesn't hold all that much weight unfortunatley. You are basically saying that you win games when your opponents have bad nights and you have ok nights. Duh, lol.
The luck baromoter in this league is goals against. Teams are averaging 2.67 goals against my team. Your opponents are scoring only 1.90 goals against.
If I would have been able to have your GAA so far this year my record would be MUCH better than yours. My team averages 2.29 goals a game, while your team averages just 1.33 goals a game.

You aren't the luckiest team, though, as the PK Dealers at 10-11-0 have faced just 1.38 goals against per game. WOW.

Good call on the luck barometer. That's quite a large spread. pwn

How about this one...
1. Opponent good night - Me good night 50/50 chance
2. Opponent good night - Me average night LOSS
3. Opponent good night - Me bad night LOSS
4. Opponent average night - Me good night WIN
5. Opponent average night - Me average night 50/50 chance
6. Opponent average night - Me bad night LOSS
8. Opponent bad night - Me good night WIN
9. Opponent bad night - Me average night WIN
10. Opponent bad night - Me bad night 50/50 chance
An average team should be about .500 in this league.
It's an oversimplification. There are a lot of luck factors in this league. For instance, players such as Nils Ekman will only score so many goals this season so when he scores 3 on a non-AHL game night that can be considered bad luck for me.

Way, way, off. You good night, opponent good night= 50/50 chance? Are you serious? Are you absolutely insane? So if you have a good night and Shoot Loose has a good night, you honestly beleive that's "50-50." No, no sir.
Your opponent has a good night, and you lose. Unless you are playing Blackdraft, T-Birds, or Ravag.
Your opponent has a good night, and you lose. Unless you are playing Blackdraft, T-Birds, or Ravag.
Also, if Shoot Loose has an AVERAGE night and you have a good night, you don't win my friend. You still get crushed.

The problem with what you wrote is that your team just isn't as good as the other teams, so you can't simply day, "me good night, other team average night, I win."
A Good night for you would be 3+ goals. For Tony B. that's either a bad night or an average night. Capish?

It's averaged...
Sure I would lose if both me and Tony had a good night, but if me and one of the other expansion teams (plus Ravag and a few others) both have good nights my win % will be better than 50%....it probably averages out to 50%.

No, no, no, that's simply not true. There are more than 10 teams in the league that will produce more on an average night than you would on an average night.

I don't think so...
A team like the Mustangs is top heavy. He will have a 6 goal night followed by a 0 goal night. He wins one and loses one and is averaging 3 gpg. I on the other hand will have a 3 goal night followed by a 1 goal night and also be 1-1 but my gpg will be 1.5.
Did you buy the Ekman comment?

Yeah, I'm having a bad night. You need to step up your bad night to average if you want the win.
