SuitedAces21 2,741
I dont really think it was that bad. But he prolly shouldnt have done it.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061114/ap_on_...bb_texas_tech_1
Jadaki 1
Coaches should bitch slap their players more often.
wsox8 10
I think it was a fine move but of course he'll probably get in trouble.
runthemover 40
not that i'd ever play for an idiot like him, but if I was skilled at the basketball and played for him and he did that to me (wow that's a mouthful) I would have hit him right back
king_tanner 84
If any other coach did that it would be only questionable.... but since he did it he should be punished just because of his history.
showstopper24 0
I think it was a fine move but of course he'll probably get in trouble.i think so as well. in this type of competition, a coach should do whatever he has to
eYank 0
IMO its not that bad but bc he is who he is they blew it out of proportion
keith crime 8
i don't think he did anything wrong but i have to admit it would be funny to see him go woody hayes 5 or 6 wins away from Dean Smith's record

I seem to remember some coaches doing similiar things and getting fired. Knight will only get a slap on the wrist. If I was the father of this kid I would be down there shoving my foot up Knights ass.
Ron_Mexico 4,238
No biggie.I had coaches in high school and in college that would yank you by your facemask from the huddle over to the spot of the ball just to make a point. They would bang their whistle off of your helmet making an awful echoing noise, make us do cutaways. (getting in a pushup position and you voluntarily pull your arms from under yourself. This was nothing.Parents were cool with it

I just verbally abuse them by calling them C--TS, etc.
showstopper24 0
IMO its not that bad but bc he is who he is they blew it out of proportioni actually think it is kind of the opposite-what if a radom coach slapped his player-people will think very differently about it

greatwhite 0
This has been totally blown out of proportion. Knight moved his chin up to make him pay attention. What's next? Are coaches going to get in trouble for yelling at their players?
king_tanner 84
I think this incident deserved the attention... sure it looked harmless, but you can't get past Knight's history of incidents. He should know better after everything he's been through to NOT TOUCH HIS DAMN PLAYERS.

He should know better after everything he's been through to NOT TOUCH HIS DAMN PLAYERS.Yeah, basketball is such a civilized game, no physicality at all. Many worse incidents occur on the floor all the time, some of them part of the game. Which do you think the player would prefer? A "pay attention" slap on the chin, or being benched because he wasn't listening and ran the wrong play, or whatever.
