Ya.
I was plastered at about 2 am central time and now I'm starting to realize to the sobering realization that I have work at 8 am.
I'm def. calling in; what excuse do I use?
1. I caught a cold from someone; really sick
The second excuse is more acceptable, since I arrived to work on Saturday using my dad's car...
2. My brother took my car to visit my mother in Indiana (i live near chicago); dad & step-mom's cars are both gone.... NOTHING I CAN DO!!@!
i probably have to call around 7 am to do this...

Never use the excuse about your car not working or not being avail. unless you like have to be with it at the garage. Otherwise, you've opened the possibility of someone picking you up...
Fortune favors the brave.

as a nurse,
And experience with calling in
the best excuse that has worked for me is diarrhea

but no one wants to talk about it,
when you return no questions are asked at least for me lmao
or even better food poisioning
vomiting and diarrhea

I called my department and the guy who had the phone pretended the phone was disconnecting everytime I started to talk. The third time I called I blurted out "It's steve, i'm not going to make it", to which he mumbled ' uh.. the phone's breaking up again...' before hanging up.
ROFL. I called the store director let her know what was going on. The funny thing was when I woke up at 4 pm, I really did feel like total crap.
Never eat when you return home from a nights worth of drinking.

Never use car trouble or "I don't have a ride" as an excuse for missing work, a smart employer will offer to have someone come pick you up, and then you're hella-busted.
Family emergency, burst water pipe or other household emergency, or stomach flu (coming out both ends) are the tried and true winners in this category.

Don't be a ***** and just confess that you're in a real "shoot 'em up" mood today and it would be best if you went to the range to take care of business, rather than work...
“We had all the momentum. We were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look west, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark, that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.” —Raoul Duke, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

This is good advice. I use it at least once every few months. However, you can't go wrong with the old plumber excuse.
