UncleHoot 0
For the last couple months, my job has been consuming my life, so my hours at the (online) poker table have become few. I'm lucky to get in more than a few games per week. But, when I am I playing (mostly low and micro SnG's), I've been winning more than ever. I won 4 SnG's in a row at one point (over 2 days), which is a personal record, though not necessarily something to brag about. I used to sit and play for hours on end. In the end, I would come out ahead, but my ROI wasn't all that great.Anyway, maybe I'm just experiencing the positive side of variance, but I have to believe that it's more than that. Coming to the table "fresh" seems to help me spot good bluffing opportunities that I would otherwise miss. And poker has become "fun" again, meaning that it's less stressful, and bad-beats don't shake me as much as they used to.Anyone else ever experience this? Any idea what it means about me as a player? I think I used to steam a lot, but I just never truly recognized it. Or maybe I'm just running lucky. I can't count that out, given that I haven't played all that many tournaments lately. UncleHoot 0
what if you never played, would staying even be a good thing? just sayin, i think im onto something hereFor some players, absolutely. Someone posted a pocketfives article here recently, though, which got me thinking about "why do I play?" Am I trying to make lots of money? Or am I just trying to have fun? I used to play to make a little extra money, and I was moderately successful. Some days were fun (when I won), some days sucked (when I lost, and sometimes if I didn't "win enough"). Now I'm only playing for fun, and it's always fun. Winning a tournament is a really cool bonus. Losing just means that I'll go do something else, like start a stupid thread on a board populated by an odd mix of geniuses and idiots. Freedom.
antistuff 0
nope. absolutly true for some people. there is an optimal amount that i can play, and after that i make less than if i had just stoped playing. i supose this would imply that playing enough poker unhinges me emotionaly to the point where sometimes i am a loosing player. ill go with that. its good to accept things like this about yourself. it aint just playing cards. its playing the other people. and its playing yourself. tuckermitchell 1
it aint just playing cards. its playing the other people. and its playing WITH yourself.FYP
UncleHoot 0
FYPI thought of fixing it too, but it's much more entertaining with your avatar.
showstopper24 0
here is my personal idea-when you play a lot-you just play your cards and try to make a quick buck but when you are selective-you just play better poker
GambleToWin 0
I think its just that you are fresh and you play when you want to play not when your forcing yourself to play. Your mind is just clear.......it will wear off soon don't worry lol

You people should really keep track of these things!
