how can he have 2000+ posts and not know that he should be raising there, unless his information on his opponent was flawless (and since his opponent had a lesser hand it is safe to assume that his information was not flawless;raise that hand

He's obviously not THAT tight, seeing as he came out firing on the flop...But I can see the logic of flat calling on the river, because most of the time, the way the hand has been played, you're only gonna get called with 6 9 or a split (split is what I would have thought logical, seeing as he could easily have bet the flop with an OESD).Sidenote - I feel sorry for you Americans not being able to play on Titan Poker... I thought it would get harder when you left, but it's full of maniacs from Canada and Scandinavia!! It's great :club: I think when theres only one or two on the table its tougher, but when it's full of them, they just cancel each other out.

I post in general I am a man of the people. My rationale was I only get called by a split and raised by 6-9. I dont think he calls with anything else because he didnt seem like a moron. So I just called his defensive river bet.It is easy to say you have the 2nd nuts raise. The problem is I dont think I get called by the 3rd nuts. Just by someone else with a 6 or I got screwed and he has 6-9.That was my thinking maybe I just played it too tight.

Yeah but you'll get better responses in strat.

The majority of players don't play a flopped straight by leading out when the SB checks to them. If they play TAG, why would they bet the flop with the current nuts with no flush draw on the flop? It's very hard to narrow their hand down to only one, but they way they played they could of had 2 pair, any six, pair and flush draw that made two pair on the river, or what they had, a set of 4's.Also, this would be a hand where I think you can get called by a weaker hand depening on the player. If they are TAG and can't fold a set or two pair in this situation, you lose a lot of $ in the long run. It's an unlucky cooler if they have 6-9, but as I said, extreamly unlikey play from a TAG to lead with a straight. Would be more possible if this was against LAG.

He's not smooth-calling a $6 bet on the turn with 96. Raise the river.

I am amazed that you didn't raise the river, left a ton of money on the table.

Yes. There is. People just suck at posting, and don't care about getting help or not.The unwritten rule in strat is essentially, if you don't convert, we don't reply, although, I usually provide the links.FT converter: http://www.neildewhu.../hand-converter

Did you miss that he smooth-called the big raise too?If our read is TAG/bordering on very tight, we can only put him on 2parr/set here as something we're not losing to/beating. I would have absolutely led with 6-9 here on that flop, and nobody was on the flush draw when it turned. I don't hate raising and I don't hate just calling. I don't think there's a ton of value in raising here and frankly I hate coughing up rake =)
