Just saw an add for this during the TOC. In every 007 movie ever, when Bond walks into a casino what game does he play? That's right: baccarrat. Well, not anymore. In a move which re-enforces my belief that this movie is going to be a turd, James Bond now plays....anyone?anyone?No Limit Texas Hold 'Em. Is this James Bond super-spy and international man of intrigue or Rounders meets MI5? Please do not go see this movie. I'm really hoping it tanks and these jag offs realize they can't liberally screw with an icon to suite the flavor of the month.

The move annoyed me at first also. Then I thought about it a little bit and came to a groundbreaking realization.Who cares? It's Daniel F'ing Craig playing James F'ing Bond. How any fan of Bond, or of movies in general, can not be excited by this is beyond me.

from what I understand the poker game he plays in is central to the plot of the movie. As in the game is a front for terrorism or something. Why do you care if he plays hold'em and not bacarat?
Because it is a bastardization of Bond. Next they'll have him drink something else. Instead of vodka martini shaken not stirred it'll be Bacardi mojito to get more product placement bucks. And if the poker game is central to the theme of the movie, that makes me even more concerned because this is a remake and they are completely whoring out the character by putting in NLHE in order to try and cash in on the poker boom. I understand that movie making is a business but all I want is for a there to be a little respect when dealing with an iconic character. That or they explain that "James Bond" is an alias used by one agent at a time, to be passed off like a baton when one agent dies/retires the new agent accepts the name. This would free the production company to make any and all the changes they want to the character's mannerisms and preferences. Actually, I'm not all that concerned with Craig playing Bond, I think he's more in the vein of the Sean Connery type Bond than the Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan type Bond.

Actually, I hate to break it to you, but 007 drinks Heineken Beer now, also. Ask Heineken yourself.

Every Bond so far where he's been a suave english gent has been a bastardisation of Bond. Now we finally have a hardass who ****s people up and you're still complaining :club::D Anyways, empire gave it a great review, so it will not be a turd.

I don't recall them brand-naming, but it's been done. Look, Bond is a hipster and he'll drink what he wants, when he wants, be it ice cold Stoly, Dom Perignon, voddy matini or whatever.Being a purist is -EV.
