Anyone watch Dexter? It's such a different kind of show. It's about a blood specialist for the Miami Police Department...who's also a serial killer. I won't say anymore other than it's really good...and funny too.

A buddy of mine told me about it and we've been watching since episode three. It's available on OnDemand, so that allowed me to catch up a bit. It's an interesting show and certainly better than all of the run of the mill crime shows on these days.I watch very little drama on television, but I'd endorse this.

I read both books and it's hard to seperate the two.It was strange that they tried to follow the book on certain points, but peel off in different directions on other points, ie: character developmentno question that this is an excellent show and worth watching

The whole 'revelation' was a little obvious, but it has been funny to watch the interactions.

I watched 1-9 (yea, that's 7+ hours!) last night, since I couldn't go to sleep until after 7am. Great show.

True...I kinda saw it coming when they first introduced the doctor but to see it actually happen is cool....it then leads you to think about all the inevitable conflicts.

Yeah that'll really cut into the tranny porn viewing....
Hank's tenure at Soulsuckers, INC, LLC, DBA TBD, had not been long, but it had been distinguished... By drunkenness, hair-trigger violence, and a total lack of performance. I would call it a steady decline in performance, but that would imply that he performed at one point in time. In fact he had not. He was drunk.

I saw the pilot and I'm dying to see the rest. WTF is On Demand? Is it like TIVO? You guys must be rolling in dough...

It's like a part of my digital cable package...you can watch a lot of movies and shows whenever you want for free if you subscribe to those channels normally. Think of it as free pay-per-view.

BUMP!I started watching this on VOD the last few days, up to ep 6 now and its pretty good. I like the main character, very interesting. A lot of the other supporting characters I didn't like at first but a few are starting to round out. I like Angel at least. The sister however is a product of goofy writing. She went from not being able to wipe her own butt to writing up new and accurate profiles on serial killers. A bit of a reach, but whatever. Hopefully she gets killed later and I'll like the show more.

I hate to be "that guy" but the books are really good. Read "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" by Jeff Lindsay. The first season is roughly based on his first novel. The show is relatively faithful, but in the book, he really doesn't have feelings for anyone. Truly psychopathic. And they invented some plot lines for the TV show, but they pretty much had to, and they weren't THAT outrageous. I liked the show, too. The opening sequence is kinda cool, no?Wang

I was "that guy" earlier in the thread. Agreed, both books are excellent and the show is worth watching. I'm looking forward to next season. Here are some changes that the TV show made:Like Wang said, he has no feelings in the books. He is driven by serial killer instincts and the books have him tied together with the cycles of the moon. His girlfriends son is a budding psychopath caused by the trama the GF's ex put the kid through. The GF's son killed the neighbors dog that was barking and there is forshadowing of Dexter taking him under his wing and training him like Harry did for Dexter. The sister doesn't date his psycho brother. We don't meet the psycho brother until he has Dexter's sister tied up.Near the end when his sister is layed out for Dexter to fillet, he gets very close to giving into his inner monster. His sister is awake and is trying to talk him out of it. We don't know if Dexter would have gone through with it because the lady hispanic detective barges in and shoots Dexter in the leg. The brother shoots the lady detective in the chest, killing her, and then Dexter takes his brothers gun and shoots his brother.dammit, that post sucks..........read the books people, very entertaining in a brain candy sort of way.

I haven't read the books but one of the other parts that I read was left out is in the books they allude to Dexter thinking he is actually the Ice Truck Killer.I've also head a few people say they enjoy the series more than the books.

So I'm late to the party, but I just finally got to watch the last two episodes of the season. Man...holy ****. I mean, throughout the show, I started to see specific things coming, but the twists aren't really any less "fun" as a result.I'm kind of curious about how they're going to approach Dexter now that he seems to basically have emotions.
