MasterLJ 0
I'm moving into a nice house with some buddies. I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment by myself, and have one room for my son. Since my son is moving out of state, he won't be here as much I figured I'd save about $600/month and live in a very nice house with a great backyard and tons of parks around so that when my son visits/is with me for the summer, it'll be more fun.About 80% of the people I talk to think that getting a storage unit is the worst idea ever. The house i am moving into has just about everything I could ever want. So my couch, my son's bed, all my kitchen stuff and various other things are not needed. So should I store it, try to sell it or just throw the crap away?
The Czar 0
I dislike the storage idea. I'd sell it, keep the money separate and then when you need the stuff, use the dough to buy new.
runthemover 40
you'll probably be spending $100/month on storage. well that's so-cal prices anyway. if this new place is long term i'd lean more towards selling at least the bigger stuff. I might keep the smaller stuff at the new place if possible. it's nice not to have to buy all new kitchen things/smaller stuff when you move out.
