The Genius Of Crispin Glover

Recommended Posts

You've wanted to see that for 20 years? Wow I don't know who is crazier Crispin Glover or you.
In 1987, Glover appeared on Late Night with David Letterman to promote his new movie River's Edge, wearing a long wig and platform shoes (see video clip). His bizarre appearance was exceeded only by his strange behavior, which was thought by some to have been influenced by drugs, while others presume it was because he was in character in the role of Rubin from Rubin and Ed (however, this explanation seems unlikely as this movie was not filmed until four years later). After a failed attempt to challenge Letterman to an arm wrestling match, Glover feigned an impromptu karate kick just inches from Letterman's face. A noticeably irked Dave abruptly ended the segment and cut to commercial.

Since when did Crispin Glovers career end in 1987? Have you been paying attention to the last 10 years?

not the star of too many of those and he's a psycho in every onehe could have been more mainstream after his genius work in future and river's edgelike i said - he probably prefers it that wayand the only two movies there that were mainstream are charlie's angels (no dialogue plays a freak) and Flynt (small part serious facial tic)hey i love him but it's not the way to become tom hanks

I understand what you're saying, but having a 'career' and being Tom Hanks are apples and oranges. He has a nice career in 'mainstream' movies.ps. I love him, too.

me too but people are pretty scared of you when they refuse to use you in the back to the future sequel for all of 60 seconds or so :club: and by the way his performance in Back to the Future was by far the best of the movie

you are mistaken. he actually turned down the part. he sued them for using his image (although they also did use another actor in makeup) and won. I would imagine this lawsuit was a bigger reason he didn't have a mainstream career (unless it was a conscious decision) than some interview
