Villain is 28/14.17/2Limit Holdem Ring gameLimit: $2/$44 playersConverterPre-flop: (4 players) Hero is SB with K :D T :D2 folds, Hero raises, BB calls.Flop: A :D T :club: A :) (3SB, 2 players)Hero bets, BB calls.Turn: 4 :) (2.5BB, 2 players)Hero bets, BB calls.River: 7 :) (4.5BB, 2 players)Hero checks, BB bets, Hero calls. Results:Final pot: 6.5BBI don't like bet/folding river because I have this fear that people will bluff-raise river. Bad or no? I assume any knowledgeable player might do that once in awhile if they know that certain ppl will in fact bet/fold here.

I like your line. What you could do is mix the river up for meta game purpose. lets say bet/call 20% bet/ fold 20% and check/ call 60% of the time. This way no opponent can play the river perfect against you and you still get value for your hand.

I usually value bet this river.Villain will often foolishly think that we are simply firing continuation bets the whole way and call down with any piece.Against slowplaying or bluffing Villains, I will usually check-call this to induce a bluff or minimize my losses. But with a strong 2nd pair against 1 opponent in these games, I will not fold this.If I bet, i will be calling any raise. In my opinion, you will be bluff-raised here against almost all 2-4 Villains significantly more than enough to make folding bad.So I only bet if I am comfortable calling the raise.Which is usually the case.--cm
