It's not that I have a lot of questions, I realize the rule about not posting results, I know people hate long posts, and I'm also hesitant to post what looks like a brag, but I do think this series of hands might be interesting to analyze from a strategic perspective. Sometimes we get too caught up in a single hand without looking at the larger picture. Look at this as a narrative and pay particular attention to Player 4 and my evolving table image. If you've got comments, I'd love to hear them.

Bodog 8/16 LHE (4,5,6-handed)

Hand 1
Cobalt is BB w/ Th 9h. Button (Player 1) is a bit of a donkey. He's quite loose and has been fairly aggressive.

Pre-flop:
1 fold, Button raises, 1 fold, Cobalt calls

Flop (4.5 SB): Td 9s 9d (2 players)
Cobalt checks, Button bets, Cobalt calls

Turn (3.25 BB): Ks (2 players)
Cobalt checks, Button bets, Cobalt raises, Button calls

River (7.25 BB): 8h (2 players)
Cobalt bets, Button calls

Final Pot: 9.25 BB

Result:
Button mucks AK.

4 hands later...

Hand 2
Cobalt is BB w/ Ah Ts. No read on SB (Player 2).

Pre-flop:
4 folds, SB raises, Cobalt 3-bets, SB calls

Final Pot: 6 BB

Result:
SB shows AQo to win.

2 hands later...

Hand 3
Cobalt is Button w/ Qh Qc. BB is Player 1. CO is Player 2. SB (Player 3) seems aggressive, but no significant read.

15 hands later...

Hand 4
Cobalt is BB w/ Jh Td. Button (Player 4) is LAG. Earlier, I'd seen him raise Q7s UTG and K9s in LP w/ a limper. SB is Player 2.

Pre-flop:
1 fold, Button raises, SB calls, Cobalt calls

Flop (6 SB): Ts 7d 5s (3 players)

Hand 5
Cobalt is Button w/ Ad 9s. SB is Player 3. BB is Player 4.

Cobalt raises, 2 folds

SB checks, Cobalt bets, SB raises, Cobalt calls

I am really happy to enter in this site. Poker is one of the online gaming. It is very talented game. In poker game so many persons play with betting. It is almost gambling. It has so many types. Family members also play for fun with this game. We're all new players and we cannot play at 4 tables at once! It's incredible.

wow.

honestly, the last hand, u should've capped turn and called river. He's pretty stubborn to try and make a play at you twice

I don't know what player4 was thinking. I put him on tilt if anything since your image at this table is very very solid

as for analyzing from a strategic perspective...I dunno, they all seemed pretty standard - altho I check-raise teh flop w/the 10,9 rather than turn since ppl are more likely to call me down

I got bored after a while, but I definitely think you should have C/Red the river the hand where your JT sucked out the straight. This whole idea is why I don't like posting SHLHE hands though, as there are so many little details that are involved in your play that you can't possibly keep track of them in a forum post, and while bunching these together is a nice effort, showing ten hands out of 100 in a session doesn't really help other posters get a read either.

Once you have the fundamentals down, I think the game's all about half-consciously keeping track of little details about other players and exploiting them. I think I make at least an extra BB/100 just by keeping track of which players think a hesitation on my part means a bluff and which ones think it means a monster. That's why I greatly prefer playing 2 tables of 20/40 or 30/60 3-6 handed to trying to play a bunch of tables at lower limits.

The problem with check-raising that river is that four to the straight came out. I think most opponents are going to check behind when that happens, so I think that's often a missed bet.

I mostly included those hands that I was involved in. There were few others that were notable in that span.

Yeah, but a lot of your reads come from things that opponents do when you're not in a hand, and while you gave a lot of information, I'm sure there are lots of details you missed.

Again, this is probably a lot better than a typical strat post here; I'm just saying that there are so many details involved in LHE hands that you can't possibly stay interested enough to pay attention to all of them unless you're either playing yourself or at the very least watching someone else play.

As for the river C/R, it depends on how aggressive the villian is, but I've found that most mid-limit players will bet and call a raise there with two pair or better, and we have to think villian has at least two pair from his turn raise.
