Hey everyone I heard this forum was 10 times better then cardplayer's so I'm happy to be here....anyway....I have been having a problem, I seem to be losing in my bigger game (.25-.50) and winning in my small game (.10-.25), but the thing is its not my play. I hit when I play the smaller game and am consitently missing and having terrible streaks in the bigger game, when I'm in a hand or not I am always missing. And when I do hit I seem to be outdrawn or sucked out on when the money goes in, or I'll hit like 2 pair or something and lose to a bigger 2 pair or some other sort of bigger hand. It is just consistently the same all the time. And because I can't hit in the bigger game I can't bluff because everyone knows I am in a rut, and just lose more money that way. The other night I decided to wait it out and play big blinds and try to get in cheap, this gave me the most boring few hours of my life. I just sat there and sat there. Sorry for being a little lengthy but I just want to make sure I covered all the angles.
If anyone could give me advice or help me in any way it would be greatly appreciated, thanks alot.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you are sitting out until the blinds, clarify?
I'm also assuming your sample size is probably not enough at either level to make it matter much.
Best idea is to post some hands you think you played well and lost, or hands you played poorly, etc.
Btw, bluffing is pretty useless at these stakes. Stick to ABC poker and play your value hands.

I find the biggest flaw in most newer players is they bluff way to much in cash games.

Could you maybe give us an idea of how many hands you're talking about...
Do you have Pokertracker or some similar sort of software. If so you could easily get the relavant information.
Also, post hands that seem to give you trouble. People are more than happy to help. Welcome to the forums.

well i sit around until the blinds, meaning i dont see much during the round and try to get in as cheap as i can to maybe hopefully hit something and play from there. well this is not online, this is live so bluffing at the right times can be very useful. here was a hand i have 87o on the button, guy in cutoff raises i call flop goes 889 i bet he pushes, i call he flips over jj and turn is blank, river is j....it seems like things like that happen often. or another one was i have k6o in bb, under the gun limps, folds around i check. flop goes 578, 2 hearts. turn comes 6 hearts, river is k. giving me a ran 2 pair instead of my straight and other guy has k7...things like that happen alot. thanks for the help i hope i cleared it all up.
also i dont know how many hands im lookin at an hour, usually the game starts at 9 and runs till like 1 or 2, and its a home game, no dealer so however many hands ud think it was i get it is prolly right. also im not new to the game i have played a while. it just happens that i seem to grind out at small limits, and just got baned from foxwoods for a fake
.
im sry one last thing it was the king that hit on the turn and the 6 rivered, sorry.

Why?
Small raise?
You had a deep enough stack?
He have a deep enough stack?
Players behind you will come in?
Will they raise?
And giving examples where someone hits a two outter on you can't really qulifiy as someting we're going to help you with.
Read our NL forums.
Post your ideas on there when others post their own hands.
Don't post results of your hands
And try to recall the detail
You can write it down when you play for future refernce

Maybe people play to a higher standard in the .25/.50 game. Often it feels like your unlucky, when in fact your being out played. Maybe in the higher game your opponents calculate odds better, dont pay off your winning hands? I realise that both games are low limit, nevertheless, everytime you move up a level the play improves to a certain extent.
Like yourself i was beating the lower game, 1/2, moved up to 2/4, 2.5/5 and lost 5k in a little over a week. Although i was getting bad beats, cold decked, i was being outplayed also. It takes a while to adjust to new limits.

When your playing low limits... DON'T BLUFF. Bet when you got it, fold when you don't. That is the most profitable style.
