In a losing streak, I kept track and have had 26 straight pocket pairs where I didn't hit a set. Funny story about this though, at 25 straight, I saw QQ in a SnG. I move all in with 4 players left and get called by big stack with AJ. I know the set isn't coming, but I flopped quads and the streak continued... If anyone ever counted, what's the most pps you've seen without hitting a set? (Around 20% to hit a set I believe)

true, but hitting a set by the river (not that its really applicable) is 20%

if youre seeing all of your pocket pairs down to the river, I think your game has a big leak...I count quads as a set too

The OP didn't say this, but it's implied that the majority of the time, he's talking about FLOPPING a set and not chasing a 2 outer (although we've all done it at some time....admit it). There's not really anything left in poker that gets me excited, except when I'm on mega tilt and have 44 with a board of AK9 and decide to "take one off" with my two outer and hit it. Of course, by that point of the tilting session, I'm so disillusioned that I think it was a good play. DON'T PLAY AND DRINK.....EVER!!I've probably gone around 30pps without hitting a set. I keep a rough running total in my head and if I don't hit according to the odds (1-7.5) then I get a little miffed.

I love the game of poker for the competition, the psychology, the never-ending quest to improve, the advanced and sometimes minute complexities not everyone sees when they play, and the enjoyment of succeeding after giving all your energy to reach a goal that may at first seem unattainable but that you find a way to make it possible.
