This is unbelievably offensive. I can't believe Daniel would go out of his way to do this for no reason. Seriously Daniel, what is up? Stereotyping and wearing blackface???

I was a little surprised at first, but it turned out to be really funny! People should learn to relax a little. It's obvious that there's no malicious intent behind the post, just Daniel having some fun. I think calling it "blackface" is a bit extreme. The accent was spot on!! Looking forward to the next video!!

Daniel , the Dexter video blog was excellent. Dexter was hilarious and you nailed it. I would go as far as saying that its funnier then most current skits on Saturday Night Live or MadTV. I grew up in Toronto and had many Jamaican , Asian, Iranian, Italian friends and guess we are more tolerant when it comes to race relations. I'm an immigrant and use to manage one of the charity casinos that you and Evelyn played at back then and I know none of the Jamaican players would have been upset, since we'd joke about similar things as well.I know that in Canada we are such a melting pot of nationalities that we were all minorities. That's why I've never felt race relations as being such a big problem growing up. Guess you have to be Canadian and understand how Daniel grew up in the 'Toronto melting pot' area to not get offended and understand the light heartedness of Daniel's skit.Daniel you definately have been taking alot of flack lately but guess being in the limelight its expected but , DAMN , have people been tough on you lately about so many topics. Just to let you know you have alot of people like myself that are not offended and know the class act you are. If at times you feel like stopping the blog its understandable but please keep your head up.I was having a crappy day since my wife scratched up the side of the new car this morning against a wall and Dexter made me laught out loud this afternoon.I don't always agree with some of the things you say but have respect for you and what you've accomplished in poker and love your humourous side.So thanks for the laughs Daniel and keep up the great blogs.

Using the term "blackface" suggests malicious intent and racism, as this is how it was viewed in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Performers would dress in blackface to promote racist ideas and stereotypes. It has a very negative connotation and is no longer in common usage because of the historical significance. Today, this is most often done as a form of satire or social commentary, not to make fun of or dehumanize black people. Even though it is no longer a popular form of entertainment, it is still done in some areas outside of the United States, but not in an angry or harmful way. It would appear that racism and political correctness are especially sensitive subjects south of the border.In my opinion, Daniel's "Jamaican alterego" was funny, and he did a great impression. Like he said, he grew up in a society that assimilated all sorts of ethnicities. It's hard to be racist in that situation! If you were offended or unimpresssed, you are entitled to your opinion as well. That's what freedom of speech is all about!
