SuitedAces21 2,741
If it was up to you, would you trade A-Rod? If you asked me this question two months ago I would have said NO WAY. But after seeing everything that went on this season I have changed my mind. A-Rod is a great player, maybe in the end the greatest ever. But nothing he does in NY is good enough. The situation has gotten so bad that I dont think he can ever rectify things. Even if the Yanks had won the WS this year, if A-Rod had struggled he would have been blasted anyways. I say trade him, to me its the best for everyone.
TMoneyBags 0
I cant believe A-Rod when he says he wants to stay in New York.
SuitedAces21 2,741
I cant believe A-Rod when he says he wants to stay in New York.Me neither. Although what else would he say? HE isnt the type of guy to demand a trade. He prolly figures that if hes traded, great, if he stays, he needs to make sure that he doesnt appear unhappy about that.
greatwhite 0
I would, but we have to get some really good pitching in return. That also brings the question for what 3rd baseman to get as well.
king_tanner 84
Who is going to want his contract though that is the main problem. The only team that can afford him is the Red Sox.
TMoneyBags 0
thats NOT true, the yankees only (ha, only) pay him 16 Million a year, if the yankees want to cover 8-16 million over the next 4 years, who WOULDNT want him?? Sure, its a large contract, but its not unattainable considering the Rangers are covering so muchActually it might be more like 18 million over the next 4 years. But same concept, its not the 27 that it says in his contract.
keith crime 8
I would give him away to anyone willing to pay half his contract
KowboyKoop 0
Send A-Rod to KC. We'll give you an All-Star pitcher in Mark Redman...and the Yanks can pay all of his contract.

mcpickl 0
I cant believe A-Rod when he says he wants to stay in New York.how about when he claimed if the Yankees wanted to trade him he'd rather retire.what a clownI'd trade him, nothing he does in NY will ever be enough.at 16 million a year for 4 years, lots of teams would have interest. I think its better for him if he goes to the NL.Cubs, Dodgers, Cardinals....Cardinals would actually be a great spot for him.
SuitedAces21 2,741
Cardinals would actually be a great spot for him.Dont get my hopes up. The Yanks would have to take Rolen though. His shoulder would probably kill the deal.

The Yanks would have to take Rolen though. His shoulder would probably kill the deal.Yeah, I don't know about the Cardinals either. They already have Pujols as their star. I think he's got to go some place where he can be the leader. New York is Jeter's team.

The media pressure would be off and with a change of scenery and attitudes around him he would dominate.

New York is Jeter's team.he was joking about ARod in KC, Alex Gordon and a pitching prospect LOLHe needs to go somewhere like St Louis because the fans would embrace him(as they do everybody) and he wouldn't have to be a leader.Do you think ARod has any leadership abilities at all? I sure don't.

He needs his own town where he can be king and relax a little bit. At least that's just how I feel.

Not a problem in St. Louis where theres little pressure from fans and media, and hes got Pujols to carry most of the load.i think the last thing he needs is the pressure to be "the man" on a team. timwakefield 69
I voted yes but only because I hate him. If I have to imagine a scenario where he is on my team then I would definitely want to get rid of him. With a history like this how can I feel otherwise -

Ron_Mexico 4,238
two schools of thought. He can do no right in NY in the fans eyes, so why keep him? Then again, fans don't fill out the lineup card and how many 3B hit 35hrs and 110RBI?Then again, is his production crucial to the Yanks success? I don't think so. They have enough firepower. Get a young arm, pay half of his salary, TX is picking up 7 mil, so some small market team will be getting a bargain to acquire him.It just seems too far gone to be a success in NY

I sure don't.he goes out and plays hard every day, works hard on his game, and is critical of his own play. if other players don't consider him a leader, they need to work on their maturity. i think its silly that someone needs to be rah-rah like jeter to be considered a leader. JoeyJoJo 20
If he does get traded, the most likely destination is the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, California, United States of America, Earth. Moreno wants to make a big move and they have the young pitching to make a deal.If you're the Angels, would you give up Jered Weaver?

They already are one of the frontrunners in getting Zito right now so Shields might be the better of acquisitions. You can say he doesn't want to leave the west coast, but once the money starts to talk he'll probablly be going to either the Mets or the Yanks. If he pitches well tonight he can pretty much book his flight to New York.
TMoneyBags 0
haha, I love Caple. Yankees fans will consider his new article blashphemy.Trade Jeteryet, he makes great points, ones that yankees fans will be to dumb to see or accept.
