And the early nod goes to.....
*drumroll*........
Tonights Buffalo/Montreal game!!!
Incredible action, spectacular goaltending, game-tieing goal with 0:15 left, nail-biting overtime, a shootout that didn't involve 5 minute delays between shots, and a win for the home team (increases game quality because of fan excitement).
Best part of the game was definitely when there was the non-call on Vanek, followed by the crowd throwing stuff on the ice and a long discussion between Briere and the ref. The very next play, Briere gets sprung on a breakaway, scores, and the crowd goes wild.
I'm really glad I was able to weasle my way into tickets for this one, even if they were nosebleed.

My friend's exact reaction:
"Wow, this is like a playoff game."

Yes.
Definitely a great game.
Poor officiating, terrible break down by MTL, mind you, but a great game.
And I must admit, the new uniforms are growing on me.

I 'd just like to add that there was nothing to call on the Vanek play. The Montreal player lifted his stick and took the puck. There was no hook or hold or trip or....
Yes, it was a very good game to watch, but listening was torture as Pierre McGuire is the biggest ****** in hockey.

I think I like the away ones.
The home ones are another matter altogether though.

I agree, though I think Gord Miller has improved to a point that makes the broadcast listenable.

I'm glad I had to coach a HS game and missed all of it.
btw, good HS game though, back a forth, we lost 7-6 in OT. We missed that damn extra point!

Seconded.
That dirty **** by Lapierre and company is getting out of hand though.
Pens need Laracque!

I hope Crosby drops the gloves in the playoffs at some point in his career. But only against another star player, like Lecavalier or something.

Well, we used to have Andre Roy, but he's gone and is now fond of flipping off our fans
Awesome game, though. I rather would have them won 2 points outright and done away with a bit of the drama, but 2 points are 2 points.

This isnt a troll post, or something to upset the masses ...however:
If the Penguins win the Stanley Cup, I will stop watching hockey for a full year.
This is a 100% true story.

Yeah, lol. One of the games I went to last season, Pit vs Philly (2-0 W), I don't even remember what set it off, but Roy went nuts and did the same thing Souray did last night, and ended up with giving Philly a 7 minute power play in the 3rd period. Sickest kill ever.
