Especially with a raised hand preflop (I know some will say I had no business being there with J9 but this guy was bullying and I had position and then flopped the nuts). Swift_Psycho 1
Meh, like you suggested, you shouldn't have been in the hand. You don't take a stand against the bully by calling one off 1/4 of your chips with such a marginal hand, even with position. You wait until you actually have a decent hand to go up against him with. Just because someone is bullying doesn't mean they never pick up hands. Besides, you only had position on the bully, there were a couple people behind you as well, so saying you had position is not a compelling argument for calling pre-flop. I know that he lost the hand too, but you did exactly what he wanted you to do; you changed your game by playing a bad hand to a big raise out of frustration (and he had a real hand this time too). Post-flop, that just sucks. You got unlucky, it happens.Oh, and please use the hand converter from now on. Reading these long HH's is horrible. Good luck.

I don't think you read the hand history right. You are right though I did make a call that I probably shouldn't have but I do like those sorts of hands in late position, it wasn't a call out of frustration. I was frustrated about the turn and river though. I consider myself a calm player but runner runner always hurts especially to two raises, but oh well.... I was very happy when they both called the flop.

LeeDanger 0
fold the crap preflop and this doesnt happenIn that case should I just fold every hand so I never get a bad beat or make any money?
Emptyeye 0
I've gotta agree with the "fold preflop and save yourself the frustration" concensus. J9s is NOT that great a hand, and it's DEFINITELY not worth calling a raise with.Having said that, that is a pretty terrible beat.
