I'm not a big fan of bad beat posts, but acolytes of the mystic power of...The Hammer!...will here find another gospel to attest to the merciless force that is...The Hammer!...So I'm down to my last gasp in this Pokerroom qualifier for their big $1000 entry Grand tourney. Top 20 move...After 3 hours, I am the 21st and last out of 544 entries. Blinds are $3000/$6000, so I'm forced all-in with my last $3,096 to pay the big blind.I was resigned to suffer the worst possible finish in tournament play...I closed my eyes as the cards were dealt. I steeled myself to hazard a glance and realized that I was beneficiary of a profound good fortune of a type known only to powerball winners and Ringo Starr...I beheld...The Hammer!...and in its most powerful incarnation! 7 Hearts! 2 Spades!Though ultimately no match for pocket Queens, The Hammer! sprung like a spring to wield its devastating blow on the river to crush a King and Ten played by some impossible moron.I mean really. Can anybody explain a motive for his jumping in here? This's exactly the situation where Hellmuth folds his Aces. The fella had plenty of chips to wait out one more player when 20th pays the same as 1st.Don't be a Hero here. Or you might face...the wrath of... ...When you played your cards with Willie, you never really knew
Whether he was bluffin' or whether he was true.
He won a fortune from a man who folded in his chair.
The man, he left a diamond flush, Willie didn't even have a pair...
