good semi-bluff?

CO is loose passive. Was this raise correct?

With only 1 other opponent in the pot, why not just check the turn to get a free river? With multiple opponents it may be good to build a pot for your flush draw but with only 1 opponent it just isnt worth it. Also, why bet the river if the guy is loose passive?

To elaborate a bit:If the CO is really as loose-passive as you think he is, he's going to call with anything and everything so long as he has even a tiny piece of the flop. The river bet when you don't improve is just begging to be called and paid off, unless he miraculously missed even more completely than you did.

Do you expect him to call with 8 high?Q-high is all you're beating...maybe a counterfeited pair of threes but you are not ahead here enough times to make betting the river as a value bet. Check it down.You are only going to be called by a better hand, so why waste the bet?

Erm, yeah, I messed that up royally.When I said "called and paid off", I meant that you'd be the one paying him off. Something went horrifically wrong in the journey from my brain to my fingers. :D
