Hi, ive been lurking here for quite some time, thought it was about time to sign up. I've been playing poker for about 2-3 months, and currently play $5 mtt and $2 STT. I'm doing fairly well on the STTs, and won a few MTTs, but really find myself wondering what to do lots of times.Currently playing in a MTT and this hand came up, blinds are 20-40, ave stack is about 1800 or so.I have 1400 and get deal JJ in first position. I make it 120 to go. Second position calls, hes a really bad player, playing any two cards and fairly easy to read on the flop. player in 4th position also calls, haven't yet got a read on him.Flop comes Jc 8c 2cI bet out 200 to see where im at, and immediately the second player goes allin. Now im thinking im going to call, he'd play/make this move with AJ/J8 or maybe Ac, or he has a made flush. Then the other player also calls his allin.Im faced with two allins, for all my chips, and folded. Was this correct?

In a word yes. Assume for a moment that either of these has a higher club than a J. They have 2 cards to make 1 of 8 remaining clubs and you have 2 cards to make 1 of 7 for Quads or Jacks full. Though you just might be ahead in the hand now I think the chance that you are going to lose this hand is to great and I would lay it down. Get your money in there when you have a huge advantage. My $0.02,I am anxious to see if anyone agrees with my reasoning.Good luckOh and the point of saying less than a jack was the possibility you could end up playing a Jack high flush on the board and splitting the pot. I wouldn't bet on that either.

to be honest i put the second guy on a made flush and assumed i shouldn't call. If i thought neither had made a flush yet i would have called, nice chance to triple up. Anyway, im now out out the tournament, lost about half my chips with AKs vs J8o allin preflop (yes, J8o makes a straight). Then lost the rest AK vs A4 (he hit a 4). Cards not likely me today :D
