I recently decided that I was going to make my money off of poker by playing mostly MTT's and SNG"s, and have done alright since I made that decision. I'll still play cash games here and there, but I feel like I play better in tournament structured poker... I feel like theres more of an edge for better players to make money.

There have been many ups, as well as downs. I want to minimze the downs and maximize my ups, I figure I'd start by taking stats of all of my play and making posts about trouble hands a day to day thing. As well as replying to others posts on what I believe can help them to improve their game... don't know if that will help much coming from a donk like me icon_doh.gif

I already have poker tracker, but I don't like the stats they keep on my sng's and MTT's. Their just not detailed enough for me to really learn how i can improve my game.

Where do I begin to take stats? I hear I should use an excel spreadsheet, but i'm not really computer literate and not familar with that software? If anybody could walk me through it and give me the "poker statistics for dummies" version, i'd appreciate it.

All that I have to add is that I suck at keeping records of my tournament play.

I make an excel sheet, and then record the first few, and then I get lazy or forget, etc...

What stats are you looking for that PT doesn't already provide?
