I think you definitely need to bet here.I doubt a made straight checks with that board.I bet about $40 or so.He could have an underset, or a draw to a straight/flush, and we definitely have a hand worth protecting.I usually just like to pair the board on the river though.

I agree with Zach.You can't check there.He is on a draw most of the time.Or rarely he has the straight with a flush draw.Then we are pretty screwed.I pot most of the time but i play lower limits where people aren't much tricky and they call most of the time.Don't forget to pair the board on river.NH.

yah, the 8 is not that big of a scare card, he is more likely to have a broadway wrap than some combination of Q9. Plus you picked up a club draw just for back up. Definite bet.
