Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 8, 8.
UTG raises, Hero 3-bets, CO calls, 1 fold, SB caps, 1 fold, UTG calls, Hero calls, CO calls.

Flop: (17 SB) 5, 7, 2 (4 players)
SB bets, UTG calls, Hero... Should I wait for a safe turn to pop it, or pop it right here?
PM me for Rakeback on BODOG!

Are you folding to a 3-bet on the turn?

I like raise/calling the flop, and folding the turn UI, assuming we are 3-bet.

I'd say easy fold to a three bet on the turn.

I have heard lots of people suggest waiting until the turn to raise in this situation.
I don't wait.

I raise with my overpair here for several reasons:

--> It's for value against overcards.
Make AK, AQ pay now. That way, if a safe card hits, I have made even more money.

--> It's for information against an overpair.
Find out now for half price if we are drawing to 2 outs.

--> It's for a cheaper showdown.
After raising the flop, if a dangerous card falls on the turn, we may have the opportunity to check it down if we wish.
I find this option better than calling the flop when we're ahead and then folding when any random overcard falls on the turn.

Hero should raise the flop. Like Zach said, there aren't too many safe turns. We want to define our hand against the SB and decide if we go to SD. It sucks to fold to a 3-bet on the turn. By raising the flop we can play the hand almost perfect, we most likely get to know fairly cheap if we are ahead or behind (assuming straightorward villain) and we still get value for our hand if its good.
Life is the art of drawing without an eraser.
