$4+.4 180 player sit&go tournament

I guess this one is very standard, I apologize if it doesn't challenge your intellect but I'm not sure about the right play. wink.gif

I get more than 3:1 odds and I can afford to lose, but my opponents aren't really desperate yet so I'm likely an underdog to a pocket pair and there might be some aces and kings in the other players' hands.

Do you make this call?

Hand 1
Easy call. You have them both well covered.

Hand 2
Raise to 1600 preflop. I don't like the $2k bet.

Villain confuses me. I don't see that he can have a 4 (unless he flopped quads). I don't really think he would limp in with TT very often.
He could have something like KcQc. That would fit. He could have AT. He could even have something like 88 and put you on AK.

I go broke if he has me beat.

I agree with simo, as usual.

There was a quote from the OP in the stickied 180 thread, and it said he never folds AK preflop in these because the play is just that bad, and he was referring to the $22s.

Yeah hand 1 is defintely a call for such a small portion of your stack and the attractive pot odds your getting

Hand 2 I think you find 55-88, J10, A10, and flush draws the majority of the time..Like Simo said, what is he limping in w/ and then calling a 5x raise with that has a 4 in it? I'm calling that as well..

Hand 1 - Easy call. These are the kinds of hands that you build a bigger stack from a big stack by taking some risk, and a loss doesnt hurt that badly.

Hand 2 - A little tougher because it means going out, but there are a ton of made hands he could play this way that you beat, plus it could be a semi-bluff. Call and say nh if its TT.

I can sometimes find a fold in hand 2 if I know that the opponent limp-limp-limps with AA or KK and tends to raise with smaller PPs, but I don't think it's correct absent a very specific read. It would be a Hellmuthian fold (in the bad sense). Smells like a flush draw pseudobluff. How many people were left in the tournie at that point?

Hand 1 is the easiest call ever.
I should change this.

1. Call

2. Call, sure some donks will make this play with a club draw, I would tend to think he's trying to push you off of two overs like AK. TT is unlikely because he already has the boat, why wouldn't he slow play? Again, I call.
