Verdimme 0
Uh, why are you not raising the flop OR turn? In agree, put in a raise somewhere. I'd fold the river in a hearbeat.
simo_8ball 1
River is a simple fold. Also: Uh, why are you not raising the flop OR turn?
Dogpatch 2
Trip A's on the flop and you just call a $1? I'm guessing you were trying to be tricky but what you did is let him draw to his straight.I was about to agree that on the river it would be an easy fold, but I think I'd be so pissed at myself for getting into that situation, that it would be a hard fold. cwik 0
I agree that I coulda bet the flop, however, is reraising the turn a +EV sitatuon? Betting the pot there, he is obviously representing an ace, or possibly a set (boat). There are no real draws here, so by reraising if he has a small pocket pair or air, he's just gonna muck. The only way I get a call or raised is if I'm beat. I don't mind calling calling a pot size bet on the river, didn't really see that huge over bet comeing. Is that playing to passive? I am ussally more agressive, but what am I afriad of here? Not being drawn out on, just whats in his hand. I suppose a reraise might be some what of a block bet, but I just assumed that roughly the same amount of money is gonna get in the pot anyways, and this way I don't have to be worried about him comeing back over the top.Lastly, do I ever call here with AK? AQ?
CoranMoran 0
What was your stack size?Did you have him covered?Or was the river bet really a smaller amount? Lastly, do I ever call here with AK? AQ?You limped preflop. You only called the flop and turn. You have misrepresented your hand as weaker than it is.Based on this, if I hold AK.AQ, I call this river. With A9, the decision is obviously much trickier. For this reason, it's important to gain more information before the river. And you do this by raising either the flop or the turn. The only way I passively call down as you did is if Villain is super-aggressive, capable of bluffing big, and I intend on calling him all the way down with my A9.Calling down half way and then folding before showdown is the weakest of all choices.--cm
cwik 0
Just sat down so.. I was sitting with roughly $50 and had no reads.
Verdimme 0
Lastly, do I ever call here with AK? AQ?No, I probably wouldnt. You hung around when he bet the flop and turn. Those overbets are usually made by 'thinking' opponents. You are telling him you have an ace, but not a strong one. His shove gets called alot by people that don't believe that people will make these kind of bets with the nuts. He is not bluffing. But ten again, if I had AK or AQ I would have raised the flop or turn for sure. You will get action if the other A is out there.

However, I still don't know if I like reraising on the turn with a mediocre kicker (i'm only getting call/raised if I'm beat), I don't really like calling (weak), I don't like folding (top set no draws). I donno, it is a though spot.
