I think you're leaving a lot of money on the table if you just call. I think this is much more frequently two pair than a straight and even if it's the straight, only one of the three straight possibilities beats you.

Call or raise to $45-50 and fold to push. Or make a crying call, it's up to you.I like the call more in that situation though.

I was the SB in the hand with J10o. The "Hero" called my raise and I was left wondering if I could've gotten more from him. The pot was very small to begin with, and he made a substantial raise on my pot sized bet. It was impossible to put him on the 2nd nuts, so I didn't think a push would work.Given the wide range the "Hero" could hold here, was raising to 25 the correct amount?For the record, I probobly go broke on that hand. I was hoping that the average .5/1 would do the same to double me up..

Isn't that just a standard reraising amount. 2.5x's the bet? You basically announced you have a big hand, so you'd like to get two pair hands to still be enticed to call.You probably should. I think he leaves a ton of money in the pot by not reraising. lastly, bet the flop.

Bet the flop?I've got a lot to learn about this game. I don't go after a lot of 2bb pots with nothing. When it is a battle of the blinds I am usually very weak and fold anything less that TP as to not get involved in a big pot with a marginal hand and no information on the opponents holdings...Should I have popped it to 40 to try to make it look more like a bluff?

I agree with you that I rarely call w/ second pair in a battle of the blinds cause I don't like getting involved, but it's easy not to get involved when you have absolutely nothing.

Betting a lot no longer looks like a bluff to anyone. It looks like a desperation value bet from a huge hand.

Listen to Scott.And, just call. J10 beats you. People that are advocating raising, because "there's a lot of money left on the table if you call"...If we re-raise, are we getting called with 2 pair often enough that it makes the move +Ev against a chop/loss to J10?

Push probably gets a fold from the second nuts here. Again, don't get hung up on the amount $25 is the right bet, possibly 30. Anything more, and people start folding big hands. If this player is capable of just calling your raise, he is capable of folding two pair to a bigger raise.
