thehidden 0
Hello all, I am fairly unknown here, but I made a decision this weekend that has stemed from a depressing time. Currently i'm 5'11 290ish, i really do not look it, i'm big but not wow look at him he's a whale. I used to play sports, always been a bigger guy but athletic. My problem is i've always had injuries when i played and now that i have not played for a few years it's hard to get back into a work out schedule. on top of that I go to school full time and work three days a week in a kitchen. So it's very dificult to find the time and get the drive.I thought one way to maybe boost it is to bring it to you, the family i've been around for over a year and more (lurking days) for maybe some support and some inspiration.I'll outline it here:Goal: create a new healty life style, changing diet, personal apperence and mental health (not crazy, just deal with bouts of depression every so often)The numbers: now 290. looking to his 225 intime for training camps for football next season. Strat: designing my diet around the need of energy (food intake) and my long days is tough but doable. Working out at the minimum 4 days a week, hopefully 6 days.I apologize if this is a jumble of words, i just wanted to get it down before i loose my drive!Ira

Keep us updated...maybe that'll provide you with a little motivation to show how you've improved.btw, who's the chick in your av?
....Ian.... 0
2500 calories/day spread over 6 (minimum 5 meals) with a minimum of 40 minutes of GOOD cardio. no carbs after 6pm, lotta water, and stick to macro-foods.^^if you dont lose 15lbs ur 1st month, then you somehow ****ed it up. (25lbs is doable)*this is not easy, but is by far the quickest and safest way to take ugly mass off your body
Mercury69 3
I applaud your efforts, if only to make sure we have more space at the table for our next Toronto FCP meeting. j/k!I don't know anything about dieting, but I heard you should limit your carb intake, unless you're doing some serious workouts. Low fat proteins like bean and corn combos worked for the SW Indians, make it work for you!Good luck, bro.

troyomac 0
Ira, good luck dude! I just started going to the gym about a week and a half ago, and paid for 20 sessions with a personal trainer. I've seen him thrice now, and I'm already starting to see a difference, and feel a difference. If I can offer any advice, you don't have to do a crash diet (although, if you can stick to a good one, it helps). Instead of changing my diet altogether, I'm just changing one little thing at a time. (my diet was in comparison to redpill's diet), so for me i cut back on pop, and started drinking way more water. And have only gone out to get junk food (mdonalds, wendy's, etc.) like 4 times in the past 2 weeks. Also, when I do go now, i'll try not to order fries.Just little things like that are helping me. I know if I tried to give up everything all at once, I'd get discouraged and give up.

I don't do fad diets, they are stupid! I am a chef and i know how i have to eat it's just hard keeping on the track. Right now i can't really afford a trainer but i would do it again if i could. It's just a matter of focus and determination! That is why i brought it here, amongst peers.

STYLINHAWYN 0
This is going to be a long process, It's not going to happen in one month where you lose 25 pounds like somebody else in this thread said. The only way thats going to happen is if you dedicate all your time and life to this workout plan... 120%. You'd have to be extremely disciplined and focused.Let it come gradually and make sure you maintain your sanity at the same time. Your going to be cheating (eating garbage food) a lot the first couple of weeks or so, but thats fine and expected. Just make sure you work out hard and take it slow with the dieting.I believe I am now an alumni of the fat a$$ club. In june I was 206 lbs at 6 feet tall, and the fattest I have ever been in my life. I got sick of being called a fat *** all my life and decided it was time to make a change. I worked out hard (but not crazy) since and now weigh a proud 180 lbs and am actually builiding some muscle mass for the first time ever also. Stick to your plan and don't lose sight of your goals, and the pounds will shed off. gl OP

I've also played hockey my whole life and still do, so I have a pretty athletic build....at least in my legs. When I play hockey, I lose waist size, but my weight stay about the same with muscle gain. Anyway, I think I might try and get to 195-200 and see how that feels.

I used to be able to leg press 900lbs lol last time i went to the gym i did one super set at 650 but it was friggin hard. i'm working back but my ankle gives me lots of problems seeing it slips out of place occasionally haha
