All right its that time of the year, and the best show on television is back! The basics: ts 20 people divided by race, CBS 8PM ThursdaysI'm psyched for this season and if anyone wants to start last longer bets on which race will be first to have all 5 members eliminated or person to personEarly Reactions:So far i'm liking the Asians, they seem like a good group and it'll be fun to see "Coa Boi" square off in the upcoming episodesThe whites are all right, nothing too crazy. Adam and Candice will hopefully bang or somethingBlacks seem like there is already tension between them so im looking forward to see where it goesThe Latinos are the best off in my opinion, they seem like they'll have things under control and not do anything too crazy. And they have a pro voleyball player on their team
Dammit, there's no time!

Okok so THIS is the official thread and not the other one. I'd pick the latinos even though the groups will probably merge soon (2nd or 3rd episode). They did this last season with the old/young people. I will give my real picks after the first episode since I don't really know that much about the castmembers yet.

Ok I just watched the 1st episode. The 1st thing I wanted to discuss is how the teams are physically uneven. This is due to there being 20 castaways which makes an odd number of people on each team. Two teams have 3 guys and 2 girls, and two teams have 3 girls and 2 guys. The asian team are obviously physically the best team. They have 2 girls who are young and physically fit, 2 guys who are young and ripped, and 1 old guy Kao Boi who is also fit. The latino team also has 3 guys and 2 of them are athletes and will make up for the 1 out of shape guy. The 2 girls also seem physically fit.So the caucasians have 3 girls and 2 guys. All seeming physically fit, excepting the hippy girl who should have to walk the plank for losing the chickens. She is definitely gone if they end up going to tribal. This brings me to the African American team. They were at a huge advantage because they only have 2 guys, and one of them was out of shape. The 3 girls on that team didn't look in that good of shape either. So to sum up.... I think the teams are physically uneven, so I hope that soon they will merge into 2 teams which will make up for the differences.I also wanted to talk about how I liked that the game began on the first show. Usually with 2 teams the first people out are the physically uncapable or the extremely annoying. Since there are 4 teams of 5, not 1 person on the team going to tribal council can feel safe. There was a lot of strategizing with the team that lost, so I thought that was great. I get tired of the dimwits that always seem to make it far in the game.Lastly, I thought keeping Exile Island was great along with the hidden immunity idol. It really changed the how the game was played last season, and hopefully it will be the same this season. Also, look for more twists in the show.... since there are 20 castaways instead of 16 there might be a couple weeks where there are double eliminations.

You are placing far too much emphasis on gender. A team with 3 girls and a guy is not automatically weaker than a team with 3 guys and 2 girls. In our Survivor Pool I have Becky on the Asian team. My wife has Cecilia on the Latino team.

I agree.... but you have to admit in the physical challenges when you have at least 2 athletic males on a team (3 on the asian team) of 5 you are at a huge advantage. I meant to make more of an emphasis on which teams were more athletic than others not based on gender but I guess it came out the wrong way. All the women seem to be athletic on the show, but when you have a building a boat and paddling challenge you have to admit having the stronger men is advantageous.Anyways.... its hard to make a pick as who is going to make it far at this point until you see everyone at tribal council, and there is still 19 people left. But I have to say that the 3 women on the African-American team seem like they know how to play the game... didn't see that much of the other teams to see who the power players are. Its easy to make predictions on who is going out soon though if there is no merge.... Cao Boi on the asian team, fat guy on latino team, the hippy on the white team. I also think that Stephanie on the African American team is gone if they have to go back to tribal. Even though she was the swing vote this week, they cant afford to lose the strong guy, so the two women from New York would have to take out Stephanie. If she was smart she should try to make an alliance with the last guy on there team even though she somewhat stabbed him in the back this week.

Asians: This is my favorite team, and the team I think will 'win'.Whites: The old family man dude will be voted off first, but only if the crazy chick can catch the chickens again.Blacks: These people are all gone first.Hispanics: They will have to get rid of the fat heavy metal dude if they want to survive. Once he's gone, they have a better chance of beating the Asians.

I must've been the only person who thought it was funny that most of the black people couldn't spell their own tribemates names. As soon as I heard the word "puzzle" I knew who was gonna win and lose. All this stupid show is doing is proving stereotypes right. Anyone who watched "Exile Island" last season, is it the same this year? And I'm kinda confused by the whole concept, especially when Probst said that you can tell anyone where it is. Does that mean more than one person can have immunity until the final 4?BTW, you spelled Survivor wrong in the title...

I'm pretty sure the concept with exile island is the same this year as it was last year. The person who finds the hidden immunity idol can use it whenever, give it to somebody else, tell everybody they have it... pretty much anything goes. So if a person uses the hidden immunity idol... they cant be voted out, and the person who wins the immunity challenge cant be voted out. So to answer your question yes more than one person can have immunity until the final 4 (could be 3 not 100% sure).

I've only ever watched the original season and this past episode, but I am 100% sure that misspelling names is not a new occurrence.

I thought the title would be gangsta, you know, Su-vy-vuuurThis season is gonna make racial jokes so easy to tell. I had a friend say the blacks were gonna lose cause they'd wake up at 12 everyday and miss the challenges. They went out on a limb with this season, but i think it'll work out fine. I dont care race or not, i enjoy the show

I heard the Asians already have a boat built to get off the island in case the Black group attacks. They're trying to keep it on the low down because they don't want the White group to steal it or the Latino group to...meh, they're not realy worried about those lazy bastards.

We did a pool at my work. 10 guys went in and I had 4th pick. I picked Nate from the African-American tribe. On the way back (4th last pick) I picked Stephannie from the African-American tribe. Oh well.
When I go to a fast food restaurant, and my order comes to $6.28, I like to give the cashier $18.71. They look at me and say 'What's this?' and I say 'I'm all in'. They usually fold.

It's my joke, so I'll use it as I see fit. As for the hippie chick on the island, she's the one that lost the chickens and should be killed ASAP.
