Simply put, I just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forum, and it is nice to meet you all. This community seems very friendly, and knowledgable and I hope to gain some great tips, and info from you all, and make lasting connections. On a side note, I just wanted some advice in regards to playing online for real money. If I a NL Holdem afficionado, and do fairly well in B&M games, home games, foxwoods, etc. and I plan to deposit 50 dollars where do you think I should begin my online poker venture . I plan on playing at Poker Stars. Should I be at the microlimit games, or would 10 cent/25 cent be good?Any advice would be appreciated. And also is true that Party Poker, it is easier to make money their, and if I was to deposit 50 there, what should play, and same goes for Interpoker.Lastly, although I do prefer NL, and also am begining to like Pot Limit Omaha, I do not have a problem playing limit holdem, so long as it's profitable, so what is everyone's take? Thanks a lot. Nice to meet you all : )

Welcome to the forum. You're probably too kind in saying that we all are "very friendly," but I do think that coming to this forum (particularly the strategy section), will help your game.If you want to play no limit and buy in for 100x the BB, some people say to have 2000x the big blind in your bankroll in order to withstand the variance of luck. However, I personally think that 1000x is plenty if you are significantly better than the competition because micro-limit NL games are filled with the dumbest players there are nowadays. I don't know you at all, so I can't make that judgment call (as to whether or not you are significantly better). It's obviously up to you, but theoretically you should start at the penny tables and build your bankroll up if you only want to deposit $50. I realize that for some, it may just be too boring to do that. Once again, it's completely up to you.I don't know much about Partypoker, but I have indeed heard that they have the most fish there. It's great that you enjoy PLO as well, because there will definitely be days that you just don't feel like playing hold'em, so having a back-up game to play is awesome.I'm not sure if I answered all or any of your questions, or if my attempted answers were even that great, but I hope I helped you out a little. Good luck!

No no no no. Anything you say is of great value, and you did answer my questions perfectly, and I appreciate it whole heartedly. In terms of the microlimit games, I can definetly see how it could get boring, and I have heard the theory of 200x-300x the BB, but at the same time I feel as though I could possibly be successful doing the 10cent/25 cent game, all though it probably wouldnt be conducive to my stack. The 1 cent 2cent seems so small, but I do realize beats will happen, and I don't wanna lose my bankroll. WellI plan to test the waters at PokerStars, and I'll let you know how I make out for the first few days.Thank you very much!!

Sure thing, if you have any big questions and don't want to post them, feel free to use the private message feature to send me a message. I'd be more than happy to help you out if I can.
