I'm just getting started using Poker Tracker to improve my limit ring games at Party, and I'm trying to follow the advice given here. I follow the instructions for observing tables before sitting down (about half to two-third of the way down) but Party isn't writing any hand histories to my hard drive and PT isn't reading any hands from anywhere. Is there some kind of setting I need to change to allow this to happen, or something special I have to do at the tables I'm observing?Any tips appreciated.Cheers.

I'm wondering the same thing. I use auto import already on party poker but don't understand how you can observe a table. I've tried watching and actually sitting down at the table without playing but hand histories aren't recorded.

Well, this is for redfish.I did some more playing around last night and read through part of the Poker Tracker help file. Apparently, observed hand histories are stored as a .hhf file, saved by default to your root Party Poker directory (C:Program FilesPartyPoker by default). To get Poker Tracker to read them, you need to do that "configure observed hand histories" (or something like that, I'm at work now and don't have it in front of me) and make sure the directory is the correct one with the .hhf files in it. Also make sure you don't have the "do not import observed histories at this time" box checked. My problem was the directory -- I had changed it when first setting up my auto-import stuff, because I thought if I had it point to that directory it was going to grab all my old hand histories which I keep under that folder, but in a different subdirectory from my new session histories. Anyway, long story short, it works now for me.Soon I'll have to post to get ideas on how to make good use of the data I'm getting. :-)
