Bad Squeeze Play?

Before I get b*****d at, that link for the hand convertor isn't working so I just have to post the PStars HH.In a $20 180-man, about 8th in chips with maybe 90 remaining. Kinda just wanted to take down the pot pre-flop but didn't mind a caller. Im confused....how is this a squeeze play?The bigger stack is first to act, he isnt being squeezed by anything. I also hate this push with one of the top stacks. Youve got a standard raiser and a caller, and youve got position on both. Call and see the flop.

I was wondering the same thing. HoH II defines a squeeze play as a bluffing move. You need to suspect the first raiser is playing aggressive with mid range or weak holdings, and the caller as having a hand that he thinks is playable against a small raise but not against a reraise.OP has a legitimate hand, so not a traditional squeeze play. I don't recall anything in HoH that describes stack sizes as a requirement. Is this something we should consider with a squeeze play as well?

I guess I should prolly pay attention to stack sizes and the fact that its a 1 table sng before I post..My bad, like I said earlier, I was super tired and still at work..Just listen to Copernicus basically..See a flop against the other CL, an UTG 4x raise looks pretty strong and although you likely have the best hand here, it is vulnerable..And like the others say, no its not a traditional squeeze play...Even if you did have rags and decided to push, that would be awful, considering the amount of strength UTG is showing..The play you took is more of a "I'm almost sure I have the best hand so lets take down this already nice sized pot/ value raise"

It wasn't a 1-table, it was the 180-man Unless I read this first sentence wrong.I guess I get confused about the definition of a squeeze play. I was thinking making a move after a EP bet and caller where I could force both of them out of the hand, ie sqeeze them out. I didn't think chip stacks mattered, and I only had about 1k on the guy and figured since I was playing tight anyways, he would fold anything but AA KK QQ JJ, MAYBE AK if he was paying attention to the hands I was showing down, which I guess he wasn't.But now that I look back on it, I probably should've called and seen a flop and when the ace came, I could have gotten out easily.

Yes, I think stack sizes are critical to the success of a squeeze play. The squeeze is caused by the threat of the original caller having a hand that can reraise, making it potentially more expenseive for the first player in than just calling your raise. If the caller doesnt have a stack that threatens the first player in, FPI can play based on his own values.
