ricker 0
I'm sure this has been discussed ad nausem on here, but I can't seem to find the thread. I was wondering what the thought process was when Lingren raised all in on the river. How did he not lay it down? AJ Benza said that after watching this DN would realize how it was an easy laydown. I'd have to agree. E-dog's not raising all in there without a boat. There are a wide variety of hands in E-dog's aresenal that could have beaten the flopped straight. Was there anyway to get away from the hand there? Thanks.
CobaltBlue 662
I've heard several thoughts on the hand...Daniel was aware the Lindgren was going to potentially make a big move on him.Daniel was obviously getting frustrated. When you're frustrated, you're more likely to make that call.

I get a little bit now why he made that call. Plus, it is sick how the cards were running against him. My only real question is why DN made the call even though he considered it likely that E-dog held a boat.
showstopper24 0
I think Daniel is the greatest player. But i agree with AJ and Gabe that his only weakness is that he pays people off even when he knows he is beat. Daniel's reads are almost always correct but I think he wants to prove it to himself so he calls when he knows he is beat to see.
CobaltBlue 662
But i agree with AJ and Gabe that his only weakness is that he pays people off even when he knows he is beat.I'm not quite sure that's true. We've watched Daniel fold wrongly in two big pots on television recently...though they were played a while ago. One was when he laid down to Lindgren in the most recently aired PPT. The other was when he laid down the nut-flush to Brunson on the river earlier this season on HSP.What it comes down to is that Daniel's human...he makes mistakes. Like you said though, these few mistakes don't detract from the fact that he's a great player.
showstopper24 0
That true, he is a great player. I think he does call a bit too often but i think the laydowns he makes are justifiable. In his coloum in cardplayer, he justifies his big laydowns (the one against brunson in HSP) so i think most of those are justifiable, even if they are wrong. He is the best though, so why am i criticizing him?
