I guess we're deep enough to cal preflop ?I know Copernicus like to defend blinds more than me.of course I like the flop call.My question would be:Why is this the optimal play Copernicus? As far as the 2200... I don't know what best is.i guess we raise to 2200 to represent the Ace and take from pocket pairs, to entice Ax to re-raise ?

I dont know if, even in hindsight, the "optimal play" can be judged by anything other than results. With as many as 18 outs you want to get the money all in as early as possible, and this path did it. 2200 is "the pot" and what it is representing, more than anything, is a made hand that is protecting against the draw. That induces a raise from a hand that thinks hes either got a better made hand or a better draw (eg he discounts 2 diamonds because hes got 2 himself, and puts you on the straight).A push is too strong, imo, because it represents either the made nuts or the nut draw, the board is too strong for it to be 2d of either.

It was hour 2 of a rebuy tourney, so the stacks were pretty deep, as you can see.

I like leading out on the flop. Either that, or c/r more than 2200.
