mikeysong 0
i prefer calling, he could be playing j10 as wellthink of ppl who donkbet the river as thisthey're betting for you, you were going to bet if you were checked to right? And it's much better than being check-raised.
dimseven 0
I prefer folding pfIf this ain't a dope, I dont think he'd limp with 5-7 UTG. This could be a donkbet flush, or a higher set (99, 88). If he's loose pf this could be 2 pair a decent amount of time (Q8-9) or just top pair betting again, maybe 50 percent of the time combined?. To be honest I'd call in the moment, but I don't mind raise-fold if You're capabale of folding to a 3bet (again if its not a dope).edit - Meh, I thought about it somemore, I'd hate raise-folding against a villian 3betting 2 pair. I think he's betting the river half the time with something we beat, but maybe calling is better, followed with R/C, followed with R/F
CoranMoran 0
I call the river. In most cases, when otb with a limper already in, I actually raise this preflop.I only limp if there are multiple limpers in front of me.--cm

TheCinciKid 0
My first instinct was to raise the river, but in that case you pretty much have to fold to a 3-bet and I'd rather just show the hand down. I think calling is the best play here. Donk bets rarely mean what they represent.

I think calling is the best play here. Donk bets rarely mean what they represent.I somewhat disagree, I play at 5/10 and 10/20 and there the donkbets usually means what you think they do.Either way, limping 44 is almost as bad as raising with it. Just sayin'.Oh, and I'm pretty sure limping on the button is fine here. You're getting at least 2.5-1 and maybe 3-1 preflop. You're playing for set value only and you'll usually make up enough bets when you make the set to make it profitable. At least at .5/1 that is. Remember, these tables are far, far more passive pre-flop than 5/10 or 10/20. You'll rarely be raised and people pay off alot.
akishore 0
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT?????Raise/fold this river???Just call??Nonononononono... maybe I'm a moron, but so be it. I think calling is bad, and raise/folding is worse!!Hopefully I'm missing something, but come on guys.If you are saying he might have JT, think about that for a second. This is a guy who you are saying could possibly be betting JT on the flop. If that's the case, couldn't he be playing Q8 the exact same way? What the heck??There are very realistically possible hands that beat you here, namely 7-5, 8-8, and a flush. While the flush is a worry, I still do not just call. I especially do not raise/fold.I know that an argument can be made that if you're three-bet against you are almost certainly beat, but I really can't say I agree in the case of many donks that I have been playing with lately (people who raise the river on a whim after calling down with K-J-high unimproved, etc.).Go ahead, flame away, but don't expect me to just calmly let this one go. Unless I'm honestly missing something.Thanks,AseemP.S. This is 0.50/1!!! On Party!!! SIX MAX!!! This is among the fishiest and most donk-filled game you can find on earth!! What are you people thinking?!?!?!P.S.S. Y'all have really worked me up. I just want to add that in my mental estimate (admittedly non-scientific and made only through my general impressions), I would guess that about 80%+ donkbets are unimproved top pair. Seriously, what the hell are you people smoking?P.S.S.S. No offense to anyone, of course. :-)
Zach6668 513
Well Aseem, I, for one, am deeply offended. But you are right. JT is pretty out of the question. It's also a pretty retarded way to play a flush, so I'm down for a raise/call.You're good.- Zach
CoranMoran 0
When I read over this hand, my first impression was "who wouldn't raise this river??"And then i noticed that I had already posted that I would just call :blush:LOL Nonononononono... maybe I'm a moron, but so be it. I think calling is badYou're right. What are we afraid of here? This funky river bet has 2-pair written all over it.Value betting the river seems profitable.Never fold to a 3bet.--cm
