Hey guys -

I'm playing in my second decent buy in event tomorrow and I wanted to get your thoughts on strategy and how to approach it.

I'll start with 2000 in chips, and blinds will double each round

25
25-25
25-50
50-100
100-200
300-600

And so on and so forth with 30 minute levels. I know it's a crapshoot of a structure, but I believe I'll be able to hold my own. with this structure, it seems unlikely that I'll be able to get away with playing small ball poker. Any advice on how to approach this bad boy?

Thanks

I agree..small ball isnt the way. TAG, dont eschew smal edges early on. Build a stack that can put Ms of 5-10 at risk with small raises and if your early aggression backfires, you would have needed to get lucky to survive without it anyway.
