Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 6 handed) convertersaw flop|saw showdownMP ($27.4)CO ($12.55)Button ($27.25)SB ($24.25)Hero ($17.05)UTG ($30.55)Preflop: Hero is BB with [J:spade], [A:spade]. SB posts a blind of $0.1. 1 fold, MP calls $0.75.Flop: ($2.10) [T:clubs], [Q:spades], [J:clubs] (2 players)Hero bets $2, MP calls $2.[b]Turn: ($6.10) [3:spades] (2 players)Hero bets $2, MP calls $2.[b]River: ($10.10) [2:hearts] (2 players)Hero bets $3, MP calls $3.[b]Final Pot: $16.10Results in white below: MP has [2:spades] [T:spades] (two pair, tens and twos). Hero has [J:spades] [A:spades] (one pair, jacks). Outcome: MP wins $16.10. I'd like to ask for ideas, comments on how I played it. I probably should have bet more on the turn, I am thinking $4. Anything else? I was a fairly consistent raiser at the table, and I think that bothered MP quite a lot. He had tried to "keep me honest" with random holdings for several hands now. the problem was I play pretty straightforward, so he wasn't too successful going against my AQ, QQ, etc. i was very sure he did not have a queen, plus this is a 6-max table going heads up so second pair is not bad. any comments?

He's just a terrible player, and you got in the way.

Why such a big bet with mid pair? Granted that you have another 4 outs with the kings but assuming he easily could have had AQ or KQ...the whole hand seems strange to me.

not normally, not out of position offsuit, and not at a full table, but certainly against that particular guy when he just limped in with noone else in. but regardless, let's say i didn't raise preflop and simply checked, but the rest of the hand stands???

it crossed my mind, but he wouldn't slowplay those preflop, and i'd expect a minimum reraise postflop with KQ.

PF: limpFlop: check/foldTurn: check/foldRiver: check/foldYou can't use one situation where you made a bet on that flop and it was correct given the cards to justify it not being horrible.Don't get in habits of betting a suited flop with middle pair.I think that's bad poker.
