This is probably right up Actuary's alley. I don't play these very often. Generally I let the button raise here and keep the pressure on the short whenever he is in blinds, I don't need to start confrontation with the other big stack. To push back at him I'd need something like 99+ AQ+, just call with AJ-AT, QK, QJ, TJ, 88. If he's Laggy I don't know how crazy he is and sure don't want to bubble by accident, if hes TAG I'm scared he has a big holding.If he continually does this I will repop occasionally with trash, and I will be shoving.

Against any opponent I have a tight range here. I want a real hand to be moving in here. I probably just call with AA or KK. Blinds that high and you are likely to get a continuation bet. Actual ranges are so player dependent, but generally I push 99+, AQ+.

Since SB is out and there isnt too much dead money and youre even stacks you obviously dont want to play if you are an underdog Start at the same range you put him on, and you are 50:50 with him. Now take into account the cost of being out of position...if you miss the flop 70% of the time and have to check, he can bet and force you out. Say he'll do that around 70% of the times when you miss...so thats a cost of $300 you need to make up in having a tighter range. You may be able to offset that with a check/raise and collect an extra $600 or so when you do hit 30% of the time. Maybe thats worth $100. So you want a $200 edge in a potential pot of $1100-1200 on average, or about a 14-18% edge. So whatever range you put him on, you want to be a 60:40 favorite over, to have a bit of margin for the risk.

I've never liked answering hand range questions, epscially one like this. Preflop in Limit Cash game is much easier to answer.my range/play depends on, no particular order:- how often button raises and what he shows- how often he cb's the flop- how loose of a calling range I'd put him on for my re-pops- how good Small blind is (I like giving chips to the bad lag if he'll pressure the good tight Small blind more)- how cooperative Button has been in leting me steal my share of the blindsin general though, I'll be tighter than ranges listed as far as re-pops.I'll at least call with any pair.Re-raise QQ+What I do with non pairs is so dependent.But I fold: JT for sure.
