$100 Mtt Final Table

Recommended Posts

Alright, I don't have the HH so I'll recreate this hand from memory. Final table is exactly 10 hands in. No one has been eliminated. I'm the shortstack because I suck, I've won 1 hand at the FT when I had QQ, it was a tiny pot and because Blinds have increased I'm now shorter than I was when things started. I have 15.8k. Blinds 1-2k Ante ? I know there was one. I'm SB.Folds to MP big chipleader has 108k everyone else has 60k or below, most in the 35k range. Chipleader limps, folds to me in SB I have KJo. What is the correct move here? I complete, BB (35k) checks his option. Chipleader hasn't played any hands at the final table and I have not sat with him at all the entire tourney, so I don't have any solid reads, I figure he is probably playing tight right now until a few drop.Flop AQJ rainbow. Pot is like 7k I have like 12.5kish? What is correct play here?I check, BB checks, CL bets 5k. Easy fold? Tough fold? Push?

I'm a rookie, so take this advice for what it's worth. With an M less than 5, you need a double up, and it might not get any better than KJ. With one limper I would've pushed PF, and I certianly would've pushed after the flop. It's too late to push now. I fold.

With an inactive chipleader who now limps in I would be very suspicious of an A. If I had a decent A of my own I would probably push back, but not with a K. Completing looks good. The flop bet confirms to me that he either has an A, or is bluffing the A with no one looking strong pre-flop. With 9 outs the implied odds seem a bit thin to me here. I would fold.

I don't mind folding, calling or pushing here. I think you are probably best pushing preflop. I don't see KQ+ or JJ+ limping in mid position. If he calls you are probably 50 50 with a decent amount of dead money in the pot. If he folds you add a decent amount to your stack. If you call, you can't play this any different post flop. Check/folding this flop is standard.

I'd go ahead and push it PF. If the CL had been raising regularly and then limped, you'd want to be suspicious, but in this spot, I think you probably still have pretty good fold equity.

Don't underestimate the significance of the chip leader dropping below $100k. That can be a big factor. It could even be a big enough difference for him to adjust between calling with 55+ and calling with 99+. It's probably not that extreme, but that will probably at least make something like 66 borderline for him.

If CL turns his cards Face Up and I see Ax X<T, I call.Am I like 40%? If so, yeah, I call.Maybe I've lost my mindAnd it would depend on the opportunity I figure to have to open push a few times. But dbling+ at 40% is often less risky than blind/ante stealing to accomplish the same effect with a short stackTo me another case where you need to dbl so badly to move up that you take that chance now with decent cards

A lot of CLs will limp with suited connectors/small pairs/garbage knowing if you miss they're taking it and you're going to miss most of the time. If you have a read that indicates differently, complete/give up after the flop comes out, but my instinct is to push pf here.

If you only had CL to worry about then yes, I can see being 40% and worth a call, but BB may have caught a piece of the flop also, and if he hangs around youre down around 25%. If I were going to take a shot on this hand it would be pre-flop.

Well I did the worst of all options. My friend was sitting next to me watching me play and couldnt believe I was taking so long to fold. I finally convinced myself that he limped with something like 55-88 and was just trying to take down a pot that no one looked interested in.Then I C/R all in, he thought for awhile and I was like man, I'm awesome I knew he didn't have that A. Then he called with A4, thought he would instacall with that. Oh well, I hit no K, J, or T and IGHN. Yay for 10th!

when blinds get super big and you're in situations like this, make it easy on yourself and turn it into a preflop game. That's pretty much what tourneys are =/I advoce strongly pushing pf. He may have called with an A4o but pretty doubtful.Put pressure on the players, not on yourself.
