I like to raise the flop to see where I stand. This will knock the button with a weak draw and perhaps lower ace. If you simply call and the button calls you won't gain any information. Also, this allows you get a free card on the turn. If you get reraised you can safely fold knowing that your hand is probablly beat.

Whats the point of a free card? If we raise the flop dont we have to bet the turn too in order to take a free showdown.

I guess it can go either way. By checking the turn you avoid the check-raise and getting outplayed. Then you can induce a bluff or value bet your kings on the river. What's your line on the turn if you get check-raised?

I would probably fold. I agree that if your playing against a player that may bluff alot when shown weakness that checking behind on the turn is probably the best play. I just found it strange, but not nessecarily wrong, that we want a free card with KK on this board cause I just dont do this play very often with hand that are unlikely to improve on the river.My standard line againts an unknown is just to raise on flop, bet turn, then check behind on river, but Im not saying whether it is right or wrong. In fact I might try your line some more since I often do the free card play with draws and I may become predictable.
