I'm moving this weekend, and will be close enough to a casino to play live daily (I've only played live 3 times previously). I've done a little research--the casino offers points for play in the poker room, and it sounds like point-certification is done by a floor supervisor. So... my questions to people who play live regularly: 1. Is it worth the time/effort to register for a rewards program?2. If I do sign up, how do I make sure I get credit every time I play? Thanks for any input.

Yes its worth it. Here its $1 an hour for 1-2NL and $1.50 an hour for 2-5NL. Not sure how much it goes up for higher stake games, but I'm sure it isn't that much more. It's worth it to get rated. If you play enough of hours you can get free food (in the poker room or whatever diner/restaurant there is), items from the gift shop (candy, drinks, smokes, etc..) all for free. So yes it is worth it.Just give it to the floor person who is walking around when you get there and then again when you leave. So you get clocked in and clocked out.

Thanks lac. Another question: I know most pros keep a safety deposit box at casinos with money/chips to play with. Could a regular person do the same with just a couple thousand? If yes, would it be kept in the cage at the poker room or somewhere else in the casino?

I just got moved up to a silver card at my local casino this year. In the newsletter that I got sent out it said I could get two free meals and four free drinks every time I went to the casino. Now they realized they made a mistake and put a limit on everything, turns out i used up my limit by mid February.
