UTG calls, 3 folds, Hero calls, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks.Flop: (5 SB) 3h, Jh, 4c (5 players)SB checks, BB bets, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls.Turn: (6.50 BB) 2h (4 players)BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, Button calls, BB folds, UTG folds.River: (8.50 BB) 2s (2 players)Hero bets, Button calls.Final Pot: 10.50 BBThe focal point here is the raise on the flop, is this correct for value?

I like the value bet (raise) here. Nobody showed any real strength preflop and if you hit the flush it will likely hold up. The added benefits are gaining information on the possible holdings of your oppponents. (In this case no reraise). A case could be made for calling and dragging more opponents along for some bigger bets, but as the case was here, they call anyway. another possibility would be to call and check raise the turn if you hit, but I don't like that as much as the value bet on the flop since 3 hearts on the board will likely have everyone checking anyway.

do it everytime your in this position with this type of hand. If your in early position then CR. An extra person or two would be nice, but you are right at that threshold for ths being profitable

The ol' free card play is the sexiest move in limit hold'em, I think. Free river if you miss and more money if you hit. I play all low stakes and whenever I'm in late position with a draw I'll always raise one bet on the flop.

The raise is actually for value on the flop. :wink:
