What do you think? I've been thinking that maybe I have been playing too weak/tight, and this is one of those hands that makes me question my play.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

BB (t4450)
UTG (t2490)
Button (t1330)
Hero (t5230)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7, 7.
1 fold, Button calls t100, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (t300) 3, 4, 6 (3 players)
Hero bets t200, BB calls t200, Button folds.

Turn: (t700) Q (2 players)
Hero bets t500, BB calls t500.

River: (t1700) 4 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks.

Final Pot: t1700

Pretty standard stuff..The only thing I might do differently is put a blocker bet on the end, something around 500-600 again, but checking isn't bad..What was your plan if he fired a bet on the river? About how much of a bet were you willing to call?

If he bet around 600, I would probably would have called. It just started to feel like one of those hands where my oponent is just letting me bet away, with the worst hand.

I don't hate that either, but small-medium PPs are tough to play out of position in a blind battle..This flop would have been easier but there are too many flops where put in a c/bet and get pushed off the hand afterwards..It would depend on how aggressive the BB was in deciding whether to limp/raise

Button limped, I"m hoping to win it here.
BB will fold a lot or announce his hand.
I'm pretty much done if BB comes and board shows overcards.

I'm trying to isolate a seemingly weak Button, precisely because I dont' want BB in hand and I don't want to play OOP against two players with 77.

in reality, I probably call..yet, I'm sure I play too passive sometimes and don't rack up the chips in bubble situation like I should

Four handed, with a chip lead, and only a limp from the button I think this is definitely a preflop raise.

Yes. its a hard hand to play OOP if you dont flop the set, but raising is likely to chase a limping button and buy position against the BB, or at least get HU against button. In either case you have more information about the strength of whoever calls. Completing ensures that youre out of position to two hands, with no information to help you decide what to do on any flop except a set.

Without the PF raise and that flop I might bet a little less but 200 is ok, because you cant go much less. The reasons for betting less are to keep the pot small if its still a mediocre hand by the river, and to make it cheaper to call with your 6 outer if he tries to price out draws on the turn.

I dont like the turn bet at all. Its overkill for pricing out any draws, and if he has the Q you are pricing out your own draw. A bet of 300 is probably enough to send the message that you do have a serious hans. (200 would have been enough the flop bet had only been 150). If he comes over the top you are probably going to have to fold anyway. the extra 2oo or 300 doesnt buy you much.

I now see that a raise pf would have been better, but like I said, I'm not very aggressive. I am working on it though, we'll see how it goes. Thanks everybody.

Results: Villain had 58o for a missed straight draw.
