Hey guys. I was playing in a live tournament last night, and here was a ruling that I think was wrong.Player X had doubled up and left the table suddenly after he'd recieved a frantic phone call. He's on my left. Well, about two hours later he's about to be blinded out, and his stack was still there with exactly 1BB remaing, and it gets folded to me in the SB and the BB is vacant. I mistakenly just called and didn't raise. I still thought that because the BB wasn't there to check, his hand is folded and I get the pot.Well, then the dealer then announced we have one player all in, and flips up the vacant's cards, and requires me to flip up my cards as well. I had 56s and he had A2 and his A high won. My question is, as I've never had this situation come up dealing myself, is that shouldn't his hand have been mucked since he wasn't there to check, with me recieving the pot?

Nope, it's table stakes. He's all in whether you call, or raise. He gets to have his cards stay live and can win as much as he has in front of him in the BB for every person still in the pot.Sidepot would come in to play if anyone else but you called preflop.

Edit: BDC30 is correct.
